6/18 Council Meeting Highlights
At their June 18, 2026 Council meeting, the City Council:
- Commemorated June 19, 2026, as Juneteenth.
- Adopted and accepted the majority of the Master Fee Schedule and Study, updating fees and charges for City‑provided services. The Council directed staff to return at a future meeting with all Planning‑related fees and charges for further consideration and possible adoption.
- Received a presentation on the 2026 Business License Tax Fee Structure and approved staff’s recommendation to move forward with Model 2, a single gross‑receipts rate. Council authorized staff to proceed with a two‑phase ordinance revision: first, updating the ordinance to reflect changes that require voter approval, and second, preparing procedural updates the Council may adopt independently should the November ballot measure pass.
- Adopted the Parcel R Park Development Plan as presented by staff and consultants (CMG), which included conceptual designs developed through years of public engagement. CMG provided an in‑depth overview of existing site conditions, program elements, and design concepts. With Council approval, the project will move forward into phased construction.
- Approved the formation of a Child Care Ad Hoc Subcommittee to explore future child‑care needs in Brisbane and align efforts with the County of San Mateo’s Blueprint for the Future Initiative. Council appointed Councilmember Kern and Mayor Pro Tem Davis to serve on the subcommittee.

Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing Ends Friday, 6/26
The City's contractor along with City staff have been covering a lot of ground since the long-awaited Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing Project got started on Tuesday.
Crews appreciate your assistance in turning the faucet on and off for all sinks and plumbing fixtures before your testing day if they haven’t been used recently so that there’s water in the P-trap. This will prevent the smoke from entering your home. Note: you don’t have to be home during Smoke Testing, but it may be helpful if areas need to be ventilated. Remember, what the crew will be sending down manholes is like fog-machine smoke used in Halloween displays; the smoke is non-toxic to both humans and animals and clears up quickly. Read more about the work at brisbaneca.gov/SmokeTesting; you can also call Public Works at (415) 508-2130.
