All About Me Nursery, autumn term, week 4

Our curriculum focus this half term is all about getting to know each other and ourselves. Part of this discussion has been about our families and what makes us special. The children have told us all about themselves though many different play opportunities.

This is a 3D shape sculpture of a home. We talked about who lives inside.
A 2D sculpture. After talking about the shape names and colours, the children built houses.
Some children chose to draw and paint the people they live with.
There was a lot of interest in looking after the babies in the role play area. The children wanted to give them a bath too!

For our maths learning we have been naming and sorting colours. This has happened in a few different ways across the week.

Working together in a group and on our our own during play.

As always, there have been many stimulating learning opportunities for the children to access during their play. This week the highlights have been Mrs Ranson creating a stage for us (and her superb dancing skills), using natural resources for portrait making, creating 3D models, drawing on the computers, and lots of lovely outdoor play.
