Live Theatre brings stories, and careers to life at OV Elementary!

Otselic Valley Elementary students enjoyed an incredible series of performances and workshops from The REV Theatre Company, offering unforgettable lessons in storytelling, teamwork, and creativity.

Performances that Inspired

Our youngest learners, PreK–2, were captivated by The Fisherman and His Wife, a heartwarming tale that explored themes of gratitude and contentment. The interactive performance kept students engaged from start to finish, with plenty of humor and audience participation. After the show, students had the chance to ask the cast questions and even write letters for follow-up conversations with the actors!

Students were also treated to Mother Goose and Aesop’s Fables, brought to life with modern twists, catchy rhymes, and lots of laughter. Whether helping Mother Goose find her missing items or watching a modern-day Tortoise race the Hare, students had a blast—and learned timeless lessons along the way.

Workshops that Built 21st-Century Skills

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders worked closely with REV Theatre teaching artists Henry and Josh in hands-on workshops that connected theatre with real-world skills:

3rd Grade: Story in Motion – Students practiced communication and creativity by developing and analyzing their own stories.

4th Grade: Acting Is Believing – Through role-playing, students learned how actors use body language, voice, and collaboration to bring characters to life.

5th Grade: Producing the Play – Students took on behind-the-scenes roles in a mock production, solving problems and using critical thinking to bring a play to the stage.

We’re so grateful to The REV Theatre Company for sharing their talent and enthusiasm with our school. These experiences not only brought joy and excitement to our classrooms but also opened students' eyes to the world of theatre, and the many possibilities within the arts.
