'One language sets you in a corridor of life. Two languages open every door along the way'-Frank Smith
The Cymdeithas Cymraeg is a group of students from each year dedicated to promoting the Welsh language at our school. We make learning and using Welsh an exciting part of school life through fun activities, events, and initiatives. Passionate about Wales' history and traditions, we strive to make the language accessible to everyone, regardless of proficiency. By working with teachers, students, and the community, we aim to ensure Welsh thrives in our school and beyond, creating a future where the language is celebrated and valued.
Siarter Iaith
The Siarter Iaith is a Welsh language initiative that encourages schools to promote and celebrate the use of Cymraeg throughout their daily activities. It provides a framework for schools to develop and improve their Welsh language skills and practices, helping students gain confidence in using Cymraeg inside and outside the classroom. Through the Siarter Iaith, schools are supported in creating a positive, inclusive environment where the Welsh language is valued, fostering a sense of pride in local culture and heritage. By taking part in the Siarter Iaith, schools aim to strengthen the Welsh language, making it an integral part of school life and inspiring students to continue using it in the future.
We are incredibly proud to announce that Ysgol Croesyceiliog has been awarded the Bronze Siarter Iaith Award. This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of staff, pupils, and the wider school community. This award recognizes our dedication to promoting Cymraeg and Cymreictod across the school. We have begun shaping a positive, bilingual atmosphere through various exciting activities, events, and everyday use of Cymraeg. Da iawn pawb!
