Walk to End Alzheimer's 2023

On Sept. 23, 2023, the Alzheimer's Association held is annual Walk to End Alzheimer's event at the Collection in Oxnard, Calif. With 529 participants and 115 teams, the event was a huge success, raising over $107,000 to help support those with Alzheimer's and fund research, awareness and advocacy towards the cause.

People who are living with Alzheimer's and other dementia were brought out to the walk where they held their blue flowers and participated along with the rest of the crowd.

Decked out in their Walk to End Alzheimer's shirts along with many other fun purple accessories, participants in the walk celebrated and hung out with each other waiting for the event to begin.

After a ceremony where the sponsors were thanked and the amount of money raised was revealed, everyone gathered together to start the walk promptly at 9:30 a.m.
Walking around the outside of the Collection, participants talked and laughed with each other, while supporting the cause.
At the end of the walk there was a large balloon arch along with Buena High School cheerleaders to cheer on the participants as they finished.

To make the walk more lively and brighten people's spirits, participants brought along their dogs, decking them out in different types of purple accessories. Overall, the Walk to End Alzheimer's was a fun-filled and successful event.
