M&Ms Make Math Fun in First Grade
Mrs. Stoklosa's first grade students recently put their math skills to work during a hands-on graphing activity using M&Ms. Students sorted the candies by color, recorded their findings using tally charts, and created bar graphs to display their data. As they worked, students practiced organizing information, counting, and interpreting results. The activity also encouraged students to compare their graphs, identify which colors appeared most and least often, and determine how many M&Ms were included in each package. By combining math concepts with a fun, interactive activity, students were able to strengthen their graphing skills while enjoying a sweet treat.
Thank you to Mrs. Stoklosa for providing an engaging learning experience that made math both fun and meaningful for students.
