What’s APP? Basics of CC Q and A - 3-4 Friday, Sept. 15

This session will familiarize you with how you (and your students can access the various CC tools). We will talk about the different apps available and how/when to use them in the classroom.

After Effects - 2-3 Friday, Sept. 29 and Oct. 6

We will look at the basics of After Effects and run through a few easy projects to get you started with some great looking animation.

What is new? - 2-3 Friday Oct. 20

Love to hear about the latest features and updates. Heather is fresh from Adobe Max, come get the latest on the latest.

Premiere 2-3 Friday, Oct. 27, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17

Learn the many ways to bring video projects to your class. We will go over the basics as well as some leveled up skills in audio and color correction. Be prepared - you may get some homework to also practice capturing video.

Drop in for any Adobe fun - 2-3 Friday, Dec. 1

Everyone loves a drop in workshop. This is your chance to work with Heather on developing some tech projects or solving some creative problems. We can also revisit earlier material.

Next spring: Illustrator, Photoshop, Rush

New at JSchoolTech.org

First, pardon our mess, JST is under a bit of construction. Your students should be able to reach all their resources. The best way to stay updated with new content right now is to subscribe to our YouTube channel.

A look at Adobe's generative AI tool - Firefly

We put together a full playlist for Firefly.

A great way to use FF is for ideation. This really wowed the JMC 342 class who used it to generate some concepts for logos and other collateral.

New Illustrator Tutorials

Not playing favorites, but we love a little Illustrator content.

Most new users are a little frightened by the pen tool when they start (same). Why not use the pencil tool?

Clipping masks can help trim artwork or create unique content. (And they are easier than you think.)

Rush

Rush is Adobe's mobile and desktop video editing solution. It is a great starter tool for video editing because the learning curve is not at all steep.

Working video into classes is super easy and Rush makes this an accessible tool for students. ALL students have access to Rush for free. And we have a series of tutorials to help you and your students ...

Cool stuff, Apps & Lessons

Adobe Express

All students can access Adobe Express for free through their KU online id. Express allows you to create web pages, social graphics, presentations, videos and do quick actions like create gifs or PDFs.

If you have used Express before, you may have seen that it has had a facelift. You can still access previous content, but the process is a bit clunky. (Adobe is working on this. Heather has some thoughts and feelings.)

Career Workshops

Last Spring, Adobe Education launched a series of workshops to help students with topics like resumes, portfolios, personal branding and presentations.

We definitely recommend this as a helpful tool to students - please share widely.
