The Elsinore Edition JANUARY 2024

Lake Elsinore City Council

A Message from Mayor Manos

Dear Residents of Lake Elsinore,

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I address you as your newly appointed Mayor. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing Mayor, Natasha Johnson, for her dedicated service and hard work over the past year. Mayor Johnson has been an exemplary leader, and her efforts have undoubtedly left a positive impact on our beloved city.

As we embark on this new chapter, I am filled with excitement about the possibilities and opportunities that lie ahead for Lake Elsinore. We are a community with a rich history and a promising future, and I am committed to serving you with dedication, transparency, and a focus on progress.

Over the past year, the City of Lake Elsinore has launched several new initiatives, and we look forward to seeing them come to fruition. One project that I am particularly proud to see come to life is the implementation of our lake management plan. This year, we are putting the "Lake" back into Lake Elsinore with a roadmap to a renewed and restored lake. We recognize the importance of preserving and enhancing this precious resource, not just for our enjoyment today but for the generations to come.

However, our vision extends beyond the shores of our lake. We are dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community, promoting economic growth, and ensuring that Lake Elsinore continues to be the ultimate place where all can live, work, and play, build futures, and fulfill dreams.

I am truly honored to serve as your Mayor, and I am excited about the positive changes that we can achieve together.

Sincerely,

Steve Manos, Mayor

Lake Elsinore Lake Watch

Based on recent lab results from lake water sampling and guidance from the California State Water Board, the City of Lake Elsinore is announcing that current levels of toxins from algae warrant the posting of a “Caution” advisory. Under this advisory, and per the CA State Water Resources Control Board, people may engage in all forms of recreation, including swimming, boating, and fishing. People are advised to stay away from any remaining visible algae, to not drink lake water, and to continue to keep pets out of the water. Have fun and be safe on the lake!
