Annual Enrollment requirements

If you do not enroll online by November 3rd, your current coverage will continue, including your Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) elections, effective January 1, 2026.

Aetna Select Open Access or Aetna Choice Plan: If you are currently enrolled in the Aetna Select Open Access or Aetna Choice Plan, it is strongly recommended that you review the upcoming changes. These plans will end on December 31, 2025, and will be consolidated into a new offering: the Aetna Select Choice Plan, effective January 1, 2026.

If you do not actively make a selection, you will be automatically enrolled in the new plan at the applicable 2026 rate. The 2026 deductions will begin with the December paychecks. (Payroll deductions for Flexible Spending Accounts and MetLife Legal will begin with the first payroll in January and continue through the end of the calendar year (20 deductions per calendar year.)

What you need to know

For 2026, the district will continue to provide you with quality, affordable benefit plans that meet your needs and those of your family.

98% of employees will see no increase in payroll deductions, and many employees will have a decrease. The district is absorbing 80% of the cost and employees are paying 20% of the premiums.

2026 Plan Changes

NEW - "Select Choice Plan": The Select Open Access and Choice Share plans are merging to create a unified option—the "Select Choice Plan." Effective December 31, 2025, the Select Open Access Plan and Choice Share Plan will be retired.

  • New Select Choice plan copayments
  • Under the Select Choice plan, outpatient services subject to a $500 per-person deductible, followed by 20% coinsurance once the deductible is met.
  • Important Note: Participants enrolled in the Select Open Access or Choice Share Plan for 2025 will be automatically defaulted into the new Select Choice plan for 2026.
  • All 3 Medical Plans will continue to offer In-Network only coverage. Members may visit any provider within the Aetna Select Open Access National Network.
  • All Health Plans have different deductible amounts. Please review the Benefits and Wellness Annual Enrollment Guide and Comparison Chart for plan specific details.
  • Weight loss medication and surgeries will be excluded in all plans.
  • CVS Primary Care Virtual Services for adults will be discontinued as of December 31, 2025, due to low participation.

Enrolling New Dependents

Make sure they are eligible and have their Social Security numbers available. New dependents will require verification. You may enroll your legally married spouse and dependent children, which includes biological, step, adopted, foster, or other child for whom you have permanent legal guardianship. Children may be on the plan(s) up to the end of the year that they turn 26. Children over 26 who are disabled may remain on the plans but are required to provide documentation.

What's Required: When you add a dependent(s), you are required to submit documentation verifying your relationship to the dependent(s). Scans or legible photos of documents are required. You must email or fax your documentation by November 21, 2025.

IMPORTANT: This is your only opportunity to make changes to your benefits coverage during the year unless you have a qualified family status change. If you don’t actively elect your benefits, your current coverage will continue, including your FSA elections. The 2026 deductions will begin with the December paycheck.
