Monkton Park Newsletter Friday 8th September 2023

Welcome back

A very warm welcome back to you all and we hope your child has had a really positive start in their first week. We have been delighted to see our Year 6 buddies supporting the new reception children so well to settle in. Well done to them all!

We had our usual Friday celebration assembly today (reception children will come to this soon) and it was lovely to hear how well everyone has done so far. In our celebration assemblies we have star writers (one person from each class who has impressed their teacher with their writing), achievement awards (a certificate awarded to a child from each class who has demonstrated a school value) and hot chocolate Friday (one child from each class who has gone above and beyond). Well done to everyone who received an award today.

The newsletter will continue to come out each Friday. We try our best not to overload parents with too many letters and so we would recommend reading the newsletter each week to see any updates.

Vaping or smoking on or next to the school site

We ask parents to not vape or smoke on or next to the school premises. Thank you for your understanding.

EYFS Curriculum Meeting

On 20th September at 9am, there will be a meeting in the school hall detailing the EYFS Curriculum. All parents of reception children are invited to attend.

MMR Vaccination

Data published by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) shows there has been a rise in measles cases.

The government is encouraging parents to see if their children are fully up to date with their measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinations by checking their personal child health record, known as the red book, or by contacting their GP practice.
