Math:

Algebra I:

Algebra One will be working with linear functions for the early part of the week. We will be working with tables, graphs, and word problems. Towards the end of the week, we will move into arithmetic sequencing and patterns.

Science: This week we are spending 3 days preparing for our comprehensive county Unit 1 Test. Study guides were given to students on 9/8 and posted in Google Classroom. Students that have completed their classwork and homework will review with task cards, battleship and more. On Friday, students will make test corrections for grade improvement.

ELA: This week in ELA students will continue their analysis of the novel The Outsiders. We will focus on the narrative elements of the text, as well as unfamiliar vocabulary. Students will work to identify examples of commas, dashes, and ellipses in context.

Read180: This week students will be introduced to the work of space archaeologist Sarah Parcak and her mission to find every buried historical site in the world using satellite imagery. They will see how finding evidence in a text can help to understand and even explain important ideas. As scholars continue to read this magazine article, they will look for clues that can help them to discover the meanings of unknown words and phrases.

9th Grade Lit: Students will continue their analysis of The Odyssey. Students will begin their examination of Part 2 of The Odyssey, analyzing the text for characteristics of the epic hero and the hero's journey. We will have a quiz over Part 1 of The Odyssey on Wednesday, 9/13.

Social Studies: This week in Georgia Studies, students will finish up the remainder of Unit 2, and begin reviewing for their Unit 2 Test on Wednesday and Thursday. Students will be given a study guide to review at home, as well as a Quizlet flashcard set, and a blooket review game.
