🚨 Despite calls for precaution and mounting global opposition to deep-sea mining, the release of the draft Mining Code by the International Seabed Authority represents another attempt to accelerate #DeepSeaMining negotiations in alarming lack of transparency and good governance.

The text is plagued with issues and omissions and fails to address massive gaps in scientific knowledge and understanding of the #DeepSea.

We urge States to join the call for a moratorium on the destructive #DeepSeaMining industry and #DefendTheDeep! defendthedeep.org
