Celebrate Lunar New Year at the Brisbane Library!
Next Wednesday, January 29, marks Lunar New Year, with this year being the Year of the Snake. The Brisbane Library is celebrating Lunar New Year with a couple free events:
- Art Explorer: Lunar New Year Red Envelopes (Wednesday, Jan. 29th from 2:30 - 3:30 PM) - Make your very own lucky red envelopes! While supplies last.
- Lion Dance With Leung's White Crane (Monday, Feb. 10th at 3 PM) - Take in a traditional lion dance, performed by Leung's White Crane. Their dynamic, high-energy lion dance will be a memorable way to start the year!
Quarry Draft EIR Comments Posted
Public comments received during the public review period for the Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) for the proposed Guadalupe Quarry Redevelopment Project are now available to view on the City's website.
The Draft EIR, prepared by the City as Lead Agency under CEQA, is also still available to view at brisbaneca.org/quarry. The public review period for the Draft EIR began on October 7, 2024, and closed on Monday, January 6, 2025.
The next step of the environmental review process is for the City to evaluate comments received on environmental issues and prepare a Final EIR that responds to those comments. The Final EIR will be considered by the City in making the decision to certify the EIR and whether to approve or deny the Project.
New Caltrain Schedule Starting Jan. 27
Caltrain will implement minor schedule changes for both weekdays and weekends on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, based on customer feedback and to improve reliability. For more information and for the updated schedule, please visit caltrain.com/status.
- Most weekday and weekend trains will be adjusted by one to two minutes to improve on-time performance.
- Train 104 will start 25 minutes earlier, leaving San Francisco Station at 5:30 AM and arriving at Tamien by 7:08 AM. This will impact the BART transfer at Millbrae, please consider the 6:38 AM train (#502).
- South County Connector evening trains will be adjusted by one minute. There will be no change to morning trains.
Starting in 2025, Caltrain will adjust its schedules in January and August to be in alignment with other regional transit agencies.
Habitat Restoration Day, Feb. 8
Save the Date: March 8 - Open House #1 for Former Bank of America Site
Did you know the City has acquired 70 Old County Road, the former Bank of America site? We’re hosting an open house to hear your ideas on how this property can be used to benefit the community. Options could include housing, stores and restaurants, and other community uses.
Join us at the library for the open house on March 8th and share your thoughts! Coffee and refreshments will be served, and we’ll have a coloring area for the kids.
