METH - The Most Abused Hard Drug on Earth

Living in a neighborhood with a lot of avid meth users, I wanted to do more research especially because I see a lot of young addicts with meth pipes. This timeline project was an exploration of that. I took inspiration from the movie "Candyman" and combined that with long exposure photographs.

Goudy Specimen

This is a modern specimen, unlike the traditional ones, I used songs of my choice to show case the font and played around with the glyphs to make some art pieces, to show the full length of what you can do outside of the traditional use of this font.

Los Kuyas Rebranding

For this rebranding project, I really wanted to capture the Fil-Mex fusion as that is the main focus in this company. For this design I used the colors of both the Filipino and Mexican flag and made red one of the main colors as that's the color both flags share.

Nadxiie Lii

For this brand I used my own name as the brand name but with a slight variation. "Nadxiie lii" is Zapotec for "I love you" and ever since I found out my name Nayeli means "I love you," it's always been in the back in my mind, so I incorporated that here. In coke bottles we see that aspect of share a coke with a friend so through this I made the message "Share the love" as a way of sharing some Thai Tea with a friend. Here we see two design explorations. Both have the same name and are the same products but have two very different concepts. Both however have bright color schemes you don't see too often on the market.

Neutron Eco Power Rebranding

Packaging design is limitless. Any design you can think of you can create, however the problem is there's a lot of waste on our planet that's hurting the ecosystem. In this product I rebranded this product while making it more ecofriendly. This bottle we see here is reusable, the only thing that has to be repurchased is the tablets that are water disolvable. I couldn't find a mockup for this project so I had to make my own. The bottle and the pillow box are images I turned into mockups and then all pieced together by keeping the background the same color, and playing around with a lot of masking on photoshop.

Dia de los Muertos

In this project I kept the layout minimal, while focusing on the details. Even the page numbers have a little flame up top to represent candles, as that's a big part of "altars" or "ofrendas" during Dia de los Muertos.

Hotel Miramar Rebranding

This is a rebranding of a five star luxury hotel located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Their main issue was that when you look at their original design it looks like it could be anywhere in the world. I focused on the logo to add that cultural aspect. Over the "m" we can see a headpiece like piece which are seen being worn by traditional Aztec dancers. Embossed in the soap and across all the other designs is an organic, shell like piece which actually pertained to the embroidery of a mariachi suit. Puerto Vallarta is known for their sandy beaches, so I made that the main theme. This hotel is also very much a place where you can relax and disconnect so I kept all the shapes rather organic to keep that friendly feel.

Xpresion Cultural Total Rebranding

This was my first freelance project. I had the opportunity to collaborate along side Xpresion Cultural, a Latin American store located in various locations across the Bay Area. Together we did a complete rebranding of their logo, inspired by the Chakana Cruz and Hunab Ku, as well as design their current business card.
