Yesterday's Police Activity near Daly City

Those signed up for SMC Alert received a message just before 1pm to avoid Guadalupe Canyon Parkway, between Bayshore Blvd. & Carter Rd. due to police activity. Thank you to the public for doing just that. Our officers were responding to an individual in mental crisis. Within 40 minutes, a second SMC Alert message had gone out indicating that this area of Guadalupe Canyon Parkway had been re-opened to normal traffic. Note: this was a self-contained incident with no members of the public ever in danger.

If you're not already, please sign up for SMC Alert. We also encourage the public to follow all our City-administered social media accounts for the latest information, such as BPD's Facebook, the City's Facebook, and Park and Rec's Facebook. Don't use Facebook? No problem. You can now search by keyword all of the City's social media accounts in our new Social Media Archive.

Reminder about Kings Road Construction that Starts Tuesday, 9/5

Yesterday, Public Works along with our Communications Team delivered notices to the residents of 100-490 Kings, Margaret, Paul, and Beatrice. This was done in anticipation of the City of Brisbane installing a reinforced concrete drainage swale across the width of Kings Road, near Margaret Road. Construction will require a temporary road closure for a segment of Kings Road between the hours of 9am to 5pm from Sept. 5th to Sept 7th. Through traffic will not be permitted during the hours of the road closure. The roadway will be reopened to normal traffic each evening.

Residents should be mindful to depart and arrive in the appropriate direction to avoid unnecessary U-turns. For example, residents living on Paul, Margaret, and Kings Rd (209 & lower) should arrive and depart west (towards San Mateo Ln). Residents living on Kings Rd (221 & higher) should arrive and depart east (towards Humboldt Rd) during construction hours. Thank you. For any questions, please contact our Public Works Dept. at (415) 508-2130.
