Dear Advocates,
Thank you for your continued commitment to the health and well-being of kids and families. It’s been one year since Congress passed the budget bill that was signed into law on July 4, 2025, enacting $200 billion in cuts to SNAP, the largest cuts in the program's history. In just twelve months, the fallout has been devastating. More than 4 million people, including more than 800,000 children in just 13 states, have already lost their SNAP benefits. Families are already making impossible choices between food and other basic necessities, and these numbers are expected to rise. These changes are shifting major new SNAP costs onto states and introducing complex new paperwork and work reporting requirements that make it harder for working families, parents and communities to keep their grocery assistance. Without action, these harmful provisions threaten to strip millions more people of their benefits, worsen hunger and put additional strain on our schools, healthcare systems and local economies. This anniversary is a critical mobilization moment and opportunity to put pressure on the Senate to use the upcoming Farm Bill to reverse or delay these devastating cuts. This toolkit is designed to help. Inside, you'll find social media resources to help you communicate the ongoing impact of these cuts, amplify the message across your digital channels and mobilize your network to demand action. We are grateful to have you in this fight, Team No Kid Hungry
Snapshot: The Farm Bill Window & What’s at Stake
A year ago, Congress made the largest cuts to SNAP in the program’s history, and the damage is still unfolding. More than 800,000 kids have already lost benefits, and without action, millions more of our neighbors could lose access as additional provisions take effect. The Farm Bill is Congress' opportunity to fix this impending hunger crisis. The House has already advanced a version that fails to address these historic SNAP cuts, but the Senate is deliberating right now and still has the power to protect our communities. We need an immediate, unified push demanding that the Senate use the Farm Bill, or any legislative vehicle, to reverse SNAP cuts, restore program access for the millions of families who have already lost their benefits and strengthen SNAP for the children and communities counting on us.

Option 1 One year ago, historic cuts to SNAP were signed into law, cutting nearly $200 billion from the program and putting families, states and communities at risk. One year later, the consequences are worse than anticipated. More than 4 million people have lost SNAP benefits, including more than 800,000 children in just 13 states alone, with those numbers expected to rise. Now, the Senate has an important and timely opportunity to address this crisis through the Farm Bill. It is critical that a Farm Bill repeals, or at the very least delays, these harmful cuts to SNAP. While a draft Farm Bill text was released that does not address these cuts, there is still time for the Senate to engage in a bipartisan negotiation process to protect and strengthen nutrition programs. Without action, the SNAP program is at risk, threatening access to food assistance for families who need it most. Any legislation that reaches the full Senate will require bipartisan support, which means there is still time to make sure the voices of families, communities and advocates are heard. Tell your Senators: support a bipartisan Farm Bill that restores SNAP, or at the very least, delays the state cost-share and protects access to this critical program for families across the country: https://bit.ly/4w2Sho7 Option 2 It’s been one year since the largest cuts to SNAP in history were enacted. Since then, more than 4 million Americans have lost food assistance, including more than 800,000 kids in just 13 states, with these numbers expected to rise. And the damage goes beyond that. These cuts are forcing states to take on millions, and in some cases billions, in new costs to run SNAP, putting increased pressure on the systems that connect families to the food they need. When SNAP is weakened, entire communities feel the impact. Every dollar in SNAP benefits generates approximately $1.54 in local economies, supporting grocery stores, farmers, and small businesses. The House has advanced a version of the Farm Bill that ignores this crisis. Now, the Senate has a chance to act. Urge your Senators to reverse these devastating cuts and read our full one-year impact breakdown here: https://bit.ly/4xZAf79
