Tuition
Tuition and fees must be paid at the time of registration or prior to the end of the drop/add period. A student is not officially enrolled for a course until all tuition and fees have been paid, or all arrangements for financial aid have been processed.
Tuition is currently $107.00 per credit hour, with a maximum tuition cost of $2,011.00 per semester.
Note: Tuition and fees are subject to change. Certain programs may have additional costs. Check online for tuition and fee updates.
Anticipating Your Costs
The Net Price Calculator tool estimates net price information (defined as estimated cost of attendance - including tuition and required fees, books and supplies, and other related expenses - minus estimated grant and scholarship aid) to current and prospective students and their families based on what similar students paid in a previous year.
Explore the Net Price Calculator to help determine your anticipated costs.

Financial Aid Overview
Financial assistance is available to help eligible students pay for their educational expenses at Oconee Fall Line Technical College. OFTC offers a comprehensive program of financial aid for students enrolled to earn a degree, diploma or a certificate.
- Scholarships are considered gift aid (or free money) because they generally do not need to be paid back. Examples of Georgia scholarships that are merit-based (based on your academic standing) are the HOPE Scholarship and the Zell Miller Scholarship.
- Grants are a form of financial aid that also do not need to be paid back. Grants can come from federal and state governments, as well as from individual colleges. Many grants are need-based, which means they are usually awarded based on your or your family’s financial circumstances. You apply for the Pell Grant, HOPE Grant and HOPE Career Grant by completing your academic year FAFSA.
- Loans are borrowing money from a bank, government or lending institution with the understanding that you have to pay the money back. This type of financial aid is considered self-help aid. Loans have added interest that must be paid back with the loan.
- Federal Work-Study Program (FWS) helps students with financial need by providing on-campus part-time positions (and certain off-campus positions with community partners), to earn money when not in class. The money earned will be deposited into your bank account to help cover your educational expenses. Check with the financial aid staff for more information.

Satisfactory Academic Progress
To be eligible for Financial Aid, OFTC students must be in good academic standing and making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). SAP is determined each semester based on standards in three areas. Students must meet all three to continue receiving Financial Aid:
- Qualitative - maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Quantitative - pass a minimum of 67% of coursework attempted
- Maximum Time Frame - complete program within 150% time frame required based on program of study.
Additionally, the regulations of the HOPE Grant and/or HOPE Scholarship limit aid to a maximum number of credit hours. Refer to the standards for details.
It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of SAP standards and his or her respective status. Students have the right to appeal a finding that they are not making satisfactory progress if they feel that there are extenuating circumstances that should be considered. The SAP requirements and financial aid appeals process are outlined in the Academic Handbook.
Federal Pell Grant
The Pell Grant is a Title IV program for students who demonstrate financial need, who are enrolled in a Title IV eligible program, and who have not previously received a bachelor’s degree. Eligibility is determined and calculated by information provided by the student on the FAFSA
As a grant, Pell is not typically paid back by the student. If, however, the student receiving Pell withdraws from the school during the semester, the student may be required to repay a prorated portion of the Pell funds he/she received that semester.
