Lucius Malheim, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade)

Throughout their enterprise, AAFES has transitioned over 70 installations to unmanned retail units to maintain services for remote installations that do not have the traffic required for a fully staffed PX.

Also known as a micro market, the PX will be a fully automated 24-hour self-service store. Items will be displayed similar to a traditional convenience store with a self-checkout system that accepts debit or credit cards.

AAFES contracted with a vendor that will be on-site twice weekly to stock shelves, ensuring Soldiers can purchase personal hygiene items, snacks, beverages, and healthier meal options. Clothing, alcohol, and tobacco will no longer be sold.
