WELCOME
My name is Grace Carr, and I am an undergraduate student at Montana State University studying dietetics. I currently work at the MSU Nutrition Extension Office. In the Fall of 2025, I completed a course in Digital Literacy and Design in Adobe Express. This webpage is a small ePortfolio designed to showcase what I created during this course and reflect on the content overall.
BRAND STORY
Big Sky Nutrition is an imaginary eastern Montana-based private practice of a Registered Dietitian. It was named after one of Montana’s nicknames: “Big Sky Country.”
The slogan is “Balanced Living. Montana Grown.” It teases the mission statement and emphasizes the dietitian is from and based in the area.
The following webpage is dedicated to this brand including logo variations, a style guide, a flyer, and a brand tour video.
LOGOS
The logo for this brand is a hand holding a plant. It represents that the power to create a healthy lifestyle is in your hands. When generating this logo, Adobe Express sampled this icon and it was exactly what I had imagined. The first logo is the primary design. The second variation removes the green background so it can be better applied to documents of other background colors. The third variation is just the icon itself with no writing. This is better for designs where the writing would not be visible or there is limited space. Click through the images for a closer look!

STYLE GUIDE
Next in the branding process was to create a brand style guide which included the name, three descriptive words, a mission statement, a quote, the fonts, colors and primary logo for the brand.
I chose my main heading font because serif tends to stand out more. The remaining fonts are sans serif because it makes it is easier to read the main content. I initially chose a subheading that was also serif style, but it felt too similar to the heading, so I made adjustments. I knew I wanted to play with pink and green colors for the Montana-based brand to represent the area, and Adobe Express was helpful in finding colors that best fit together for a cohesive palette.
AI TEMPLATE FLYER
This first flyer was created using generative AI by Adobe Express. I gave it the prompt: "Minimalist and earthy family nutrition class at the park with fruits, vegetables, flowers." I then used its template and adjusted fonts, colors, and event details to suit the brand. I think the layout is effective, but after trying different prompts and adjustments, I was not in love with what AI was coming up with. This was great to use for inspiration though!
EVENT FLYER
This event flyer was created without the use of AI or Adobe Express templates. Instead of photos, I wanted the flyer to be more detailed in the hopes that it would attract more families. I opted to include the date and description of each class and put the most pertinent information in circles off to the side. I initially had the "Summer 2025 Classes" subheading in a light green color, but I adjusted it so it could be more legible.
VIDEOS
The next step of the brand creation was to design two videos.
The first video is a "stock recap." It was created using stock content provided by Adobe Express and is meant to cover the event described in the flyer. It was a chance to utilize all the fun features Adobe has to offer.
The second video is a "brand tour." It gives a one-minute introduction to the brand including much of what is in the style guide. However, it gives much more detail and better sells the brand. It was a great opportunity to experiment with transitions, timing, and adjusting audio.
