Father's Day Breakfast
School Readiness Information Breakfast
Our school community came together on a bright morning to kickstart a promising journey for our young learners! The School Readiness Information Breakfast for 2024 Kindergarten parents was an enlightening session filled with valuable insights. Parents gathered to discover essential tips on how to best support their children as they prepare for their exciting Kindergarten adventure next year.
Engaging discussions ranged from building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy to fostering a positive attitude towards learning. Our Kindergarten teachers shared advice, practical strategies, and resources that will empower parents to nurture their child's curiosity and confidence.
Nurturing Our Fantastic Staff: Wellbeing Week
This week, our school is buzzing with positivity as we prioritise the wellbeing of our incredible staff members. In a fantastic initiative to promote health and happiness, we hosted a rejuvenating Staff Wellbeing Week.
The week started with breakfast to fuel our fabulous staff. Tuesday morning began with serene and revitalising yoga session led by a class parent, Amelia Joseph. The session set a positive tone for the day ahead. A local personal trainer led our staff in a personal training session that took the team's energy levels up a notch, motivating them to stay active and healthy. The addition of a pottery class provided a creative outlet, allowing our staff to tap into their artistic side and unwind in a unique way.
This week was a heartfelt gesture to show our gratitude for the dedication and effort our staff brings to our school. It's incredible how taking care of their wellbeing can have such a positive impact on the entire school environment. As we look back on this enriching week, we're reminded of the importance of taking time to nurture ourselves and each other. Here's to our fantastic staff – thank you for all that you do!
Summer Uniform Reminder
For the last 3 weeks of Term 3 (September 4 - September 22) we will have a short cross-over period between winter and summer uniform. This means that during these 3 weeks children can wear either their winter or summer uniform. All children are expected to be in their summer uniform on the first day of Term 4. Please note that our school photo days are 14 and 18 September, we ask that all student's wear their summer uniform on these days.
National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence
The NDA theme for 2023 is 'growing connections'. This theme supports research findings that strong school community connections and social skills are protective factors in the prevention of bullying and help enable positive, help-seeking behaviours in students. This week APPS focused on helping our students to identify and grow positive connections with their peers and school community. Whether you're a parent, teacher, student or member of the broader community, everyone has a role to play in preventing bullying.
Kindergarten 2024 Playgroup
All children and their families who have enrolled and starting Kindergarten at Anzac Park in 2024 are invited to join us at 9:30am in the school hall on Wednesday 13 September for a playgroup session. This will be an opportunity to meet staff, other parents and share in morning tea while your child plays with other children starting school next year.
Learning Hub Snapshot - Marmalade
This term, Marmalade have been exploring texts from other cultures to analyse how personal understandings, beliefs and experiences are portrayed. They have greatly enjoyed reading Kampung Boy and have been exploring the life of the main character Lat. Our students have learnt ways to enhance their own texts, both in the written and the visual form, and have begun to create their own autobiographies! They have worked so hard this term to gather information about their own lives to create engaging and visually exciting texts!
News From The Library
Miller Street – Pick Up
We have had a number of residents contact the school regarding parents trying to pick up their child/ren from Miller Street Gate after school by parking or stopping in ‘No Stopping’ zones or in front of driveways.
To help create a safe environment for children North Sydney Council officers will patrol all school zones as often as possible and will take enforcement action against any driver who is seen not complying with the rules applicable to parking. There are significant fines and penalties for breaching parking and driving rules within a school zone.
If using the Miller St exit, please park legally before collecting your child, or use this gate when walking or using Miller St public transport.
