Recreation and Wellness provides world-class recreation and wellness programming for the students, staff, faculty, and community of Stanford University and partners with organizations that embody and enhance experiences for lifelong wellness. ACCESS

AFFILIATE ACCESS: Access to Stanford’s recreational facilities and programs are available to students, faculty, staff, post docs, and fellows with valid SUID cards. Learn more.

NON-AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP: To obtain a badge to enter our facilities, non-affiliates will need to purchase a membership. Learn more.

GUEST PASSES: Guest passes give individuals access to Stanford Recreational Facilities. Guest Pass holders do not have access to programs. Learn more.

STANFORD CAMPUS

Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center (AOERC)

The Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center (AOERC) is located at 285 Santa Teresa St. The AOERC provides 75,000 square feet of indoor recreation space, a 50-meter outdoor pool, state-of-the-art Climbing Wall and Outdoor Education Center, classroom spaces, locker rooms and showers, fitness center, and three indoor basketball courts. Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation (ACSR)

The Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation (ACSR) is located at 341 Galvez St. The ACSR is a 75,000 square foot recreation facility that includes a 11,000 square foot fitness room with weight machines and cardio equipment, the Erickson Family Courts (three- full length basketball courts), seven squash courts, the Fencing Center, and a 3,600 square foot studio. Li Ka Shing Center (LKSC)

The LKSC Fitness Center is located on the 4th floor of the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge. It is only open to medical students and biosciences graduate students. Learn more.

Outdoor Fitness Court

The Stanford Outdoor Fitness Court, on Arguello Field, is an outdoor bodyweight gym featuring a seven-station circuit training system for a full-body workout. Stanford opened this fitness court as part of National Fitness Campaign, a social enterprise that has helped fund and build fitness courts in hundreds of locations across America. Learn more.

Red Barn Equestrian Center

The Stanford Red Barn Equestrian Center is one of the last links to Stanford’s historic legacy, built in 1880 and used continuously since that time as a horse training facility. It serves as a tangible thread connecting Leland Stanford’s Palo Alto Stock Farm to the world-leading University. Learn more.

Stanford Redwood City Recreation and Wellness Center

Opened in March 2019, this 34,000 square foot facility at the Stanford Redwood City Campus includes a six-lane rooftop pool, indoor basketball court, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, locker rooms, showers, an outdoor fitness courtyard, and more! Stanford boasts one of the highest quality collegiate climbing facilities in the nation. Climbing is open to Stanford affiliates, and routes are designed to be accessible to everyone – from beginners to experienced climbers. Stanford affiliates and members alike are welcome to rent from our equipment rental services at the AOERC Outdoor Center. The Outdoor Center has what you need to keep you going on your trip or vacation, from tents and backpacks to paddleboards and kayaks. Learn more.

PHYSICAL WELLNESS

Physical wellness consists of recognizing the need for physical activity, healthy food, sleep, stress management, social interaction, illness and injury prevention, and management of chronic health conditions.
