Welcome to the first PTO newsletter of the 2023-24 school year! The Viking View is published weekly and serves as a resource for North families by providing updates on school happenings and student activities. You can also find helpful information from the following North resources:

Whether you're new to North (welcome!) or have a returning student (welcome back!) we'd like to introduce ourselves. North PTO works to support students, appreciate educators, create community and sponsor fun. Every parent or guardian of a North Junior High student is a member of North Junior High PTO and an important part of our community.

upcoming Athletic events

  • Athletics Registration - Aktivate is a new registration program for parents of student athletes. Check out the North Athletics homepage (scroll past the calendar) for more information. This registration replaces the athletics form required in previous years, but the standard physical form (available within Aktivate) is still required.
  • 9th Grade Athletics- Some 9th grade sports happen through North and others through Boise High. The Boise High Athletics schedule may be found here. See the Boise School District's 23/24 Sports Start Date chart below and contact North Athletic Director Andy Nemeth with questions.
  • 7th Tennis - Started Thursday, August 17. Contact Todd Erlander for more information.
  • 7th/8th Softball - Starts Wednesday, August 23. Contact Roger Birt for more information.
  • 8th/9th Volleyball - Games Wednesday, August 23, 2:45 and Friday, August 25, 3:30. Click here for the 8/9 volleyball schedule.
  • 7th/8th Cross Country - Meet Thursday, August 24 at Ann Morrison, 3:30. Optional meet Saturday, August 26, at Bogus Basin.
  • 9th Cross Country - Join the Stack Team App, search "Boise Brave XC" and request to join to keep up with practice schedule and events.
  • Cheer - Cheerleader practice and game schedules may be found here. Contact Aimee Hoven for more information.

  • Back to School Night - Tuesday, August 22, 5:30 - 7:15 p.m. Come meet Principal, Pam Dietz, the new Assistant Principal, Dr. Brett Twiss, and your student's teachers. Click here for the schedule.
  • Back to School Barbecue - Wednesday, September 13, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. All North parents, students and teachers are invited to join PTO on the North campus for the first annual Back to School Barbecue. Bring your family and come eat hot dogs, veggie dogs, chips and dessert while welcoming new North families and reconnecting with those you already know. Free! Stay tuned for more information.
  • Boise Brick House: The Boise Brick House (BBH) is a teen-driven after school drop-in center for high school participants from across the Treasure Valley. BBH offers relaxation with friends, homework, free food, fun activities, and empowering conversations about mental wellness.
