While in China, we had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of entertainment that reflected both traditional and modern aspects of Chinese culture. We attended operas, puppet shows, and musical plays, each offering a glimpse into China’s rich artistic heritage. Traditional Chinese opera, with its elaborate costumes, stylized movements, and symbolic storytelling, was especially fascinating. Puppet shows, whose technique is passed on through generations and requires a large amount of practice and skill. We also encountered spontaneous forms of entertainment in public spaces.
