From the Hilltop

April 2026

Digging Earth Day

There's nothing quite like sinking your hands into a rich pile of dirt to start the school day. On these beautiful spring days, our campus greenhouse becomes a warm, sunlit living classroom. While our students are busy planting the seeds for the coming season, they are simultaneously growing their knowledge of sustainability, climate change, and the food systems that nourish us all. This isn't just about gardening—it's about connection of people, planet, and place. Last week, the entire school celebrated Earth Day, providing opportunities for every student to find their green thumb—whether through music, cooking, energy, math, or a paintbrush. Happy spring!

All-School Presidents Ready to Take the Helm

The Kimball Union community elected Tommy ’27 and Melissa ’27 as next year’s All-School Presidents, as students begin to seek opportunities for leadership in the coming academic year.

Scenes From: Prom 2026

We returned to the Roaring '20s for a festive and fun prom, an annual spring tradition that brings together so many in the community for dinner, dancing, and a whole lot of Gatsby-level glamour! KUA proved that a century later, no one knows how to celebrate like we do.

Scholars Prepare for Summer Experiences

Kimball Union Academy selected nine students to receive a Cullman Scholarship for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year, pursuing topics like biodiversity, sustainable architecture, coding, medical care, journalism, and the arts.

Blurring the Lines Between Art, Science, and Design

Lili '26 developed a passion for art at a young age and later discovered a love of science. As a Cullman Scholar she found a way to merge her interests.

Winter Sport Student-Athletes Honored

KUA recently recognized 30 student-athletes who were honored by the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council and Lakes Region League for their performances on the court, ice, and snow this past winter.

Wildcats Celebrated on National Signing Day

Kimball Union Academy celebrated 15 student-athletes as part of National Signing Day on April 15 as they officially committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Faculty Appreciation Week!

From classes to games to performances to all-school dinners, faculty build the KUA family at every turn.

The strength of a Kimball Union education is found in the people who build our community. Join KUA in celebrating Faculty Appreciation Week to express our gratitude for generations of dedicated faculty.

We invite you to share a memory and make a gift to the KUA Fund in honor of a faculty member, past or present, who made a lasting impact on your KUA experience.
