Stony Brook, one of America’s most dynamic public universities, is New York’s flagship and No. 1 public university. Stony Brook is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, a center of academic excellence and an internationally recognized research institution that offers all students a world-class education. Stony Brook University offers more than 200 undergraduate programs, more than 100 master’s programs, and more than 50 doctoral programs. Stony Brook University is located at the geographic midpoint of Long Island. The campus lies about 60 miles east of New York City and 60 miles west of Montauk Point. It is only a short distance from the beaches of Fire Island and the historic monuments and museums of New York City.

University Campus and Facilities

With 16 athletics teams, Stony Brook student-athletes train in the state-of-the-art Dubin Family Athletic Performance Center, an 8,000 square foot Athletic Performance facility that includes over 37,000 pounds of cutting-edge equipment, a visual system for filming and training and a designated plyometric area for speed and sprint work.

The Men's Soccer team competes in NCAA Division 1, in the Coastal Athletic Association Conference. The team plays its home games at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, a 12,000-seater complex that is Stony Brook's main stadium. Head Coach, Ryan Anatol has made a major impact in his ten full seasons at Stony Brook University, guiding the Seawolves to the 2018 America East Regular Season title and eight America East Conference Tournament appearances. A proven successful recruiter, Anatol is also credited with recruiting three conference Rookie of the Year winners, the most in the league during his tenure. He has developed 1 All-American, 6 All-Region, and 25 All-Conference performers at SBU. Anatol has also developed many players who have moved on to the professional ranks including most recently Stephen Turnbull (NYCFC) & Gustavo Fernandes (NCFC).
