Crocker Trail Master Plan Moves Forward with Design and Environmental Review

In 2021, the City Council adopted the Crocker Park Recreational Trail Master Plan. The purpose of the Plan is to bring to life the wants and needs of the Brisbane community. Through implementing accessibility, safety and connectivity, ecological responsibility and education, recreational opportunities and the chance to support local artists, the Plan aims to improve the quality of life for all its visitors. The Plan also addresses current planning issues and needs for restoration and safety along the Trail and presents feasible solutions for its design and long-term operation and maintenance. The Plan integrates both active and contemplative experiences for all Crocker Trail users - including the Industrial Park employees and local Brisbane residents.

In April 2025, the City Council entered into an agreement with RRM Design Group to provide preliminary design and environmental compliance services for the improvement of the Crocker Trail. A California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) study is the next step towards implementation of the Crocker Trail Master Plan. The study will ensure that environmental impacts are compliant and carefully considered, mitigated where possible, and that the public and decision-makers have the information they need to make informed choices about the project.  Staff met with the consultant team on March 4th to review the draft schematic package and will continue working with RRM to refine the package and prepare it to a 30% level construction document package for the Trail amenities identified in the Master Plan. The scope specifically identifies the following amenities: lighting, nature play, outdoor education, fitness stations, seating and gathering spaces, bike skills training elements, retaining walls, and street crossings. RRM's scope also includes a Biological Resources Technical Report. This work will continue over the next several months.

"Boogie Down Brisbane": 3/21, Noon-4 PM in the Park!

Community members of all ages are invited to gather for the first annual Boogie Down Brisbane, a hip hop benefit concert, that will showcase a vibrant, family-friendly lineup of hip hop music, art, activities, and community solidarity on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 12 - 4 PM. The free event aims to spread awareness and raise funds for the three nonprofit organizers: Kapwa Kultural Center, Lyrical Opposition, and Rock The School Bells (RTSB).

Organizers aim to rally the community around arts, culture, and youth empowerment at a time when funding for community-based programming has been increasingly constrained due to dramatic shifts in the funding landscape.

“Boogie Down” is a nod to community-centered gatherings like Berkeley’s hip hop in the park events. These reflect both a celebration of hip hop and culture, as well as a call to action.

Designed as an inclusive, multigenerational experience, Boogie Down Brisbane will feature:

  • Live performances from headlining artists like Indigenous Cats an indigenous, underground hip hop duo from Southern California and The Osada 3, a Bay Area trio sibling band
  • A curated lineup of local and regional hip hop performers, DJs, and dance performances
  • Community vendors
  • Food and beverage offerings
  • Activities and entertainment for youth and families
