The Blast City Manager Dennis' Weekly Update | August 6, 2025

Thank you to all who joined the Brisbane Police Department yesterday for National Night Out (NNO). It was an extremely successful event! Held always on the first Tuesday in August, NNO encourages residents to connect with neighbors and local law enforcement...and what better way to do so than in the Community Park with the Brisbane Lions Club manning the grill? Thank you, Lions! We also thank local businesses Midtown Market, Pitco Foods, and Corfini Gourmet for their contributions to the dinner spread!

Volunteerism Survey Live Now Through August 22, 2025

Brisbane has a proud tradition of community spirit and volunteerism. We’re building on that foundation by strengthening partnerships with residents, community organizations, and City staff to support meaningful projects that enhance our city. At the City Council’s Annual Retreat in March, the Council identified Volunteerism as one of its top priorities. This reflects our shared commitment to collaboration and civic engagement. By working together, we can make a greater impact - delivering services more efficiently, building stronger connections, and creating a more vibrant, resilient Brisbane. This survey is your opportunity to let us know how you'd like to get involved.

Directed Traffic Enforcement on San Bruno, Visitacion & Mission Blue Dr.

Ofc. Quan observing cars coming down San Bruno near the school.

With school back in session on August 21st, Brisbane PD is making sure motorists are keenly aware of the rules of the road! You may have seen citations and warnings being given; for instance, on Tuesday, Ofc. Quan gave two of each on San Bruno. He's also been helping with crossing guard duty when needed during the summer months, and has been enjoying the time he's gotten to meet with residents; the below pic was taken Tuesday when setting out cones for the Lions' trailer for National Night Out.

A New Protective Vest for Police K-9, Ringo

In late 2024, the Brisbane Police Department received a call from a resident expressing interest in having the Order of the Eastern Star organization donate towards the purchase of K-9 Ringo's bulletproof vest. This donation was approved by the Council at their March 20, 2025 City Council Meeting, and now, Ringo and his partner Corporal Adrian Valencia, along with Chief Lisa Macias and members of the Brisbane Police Department, will get to formally meet the generous donors behind Ringo's protective vest.

We're pretty sure he'll be ready for his close-up!
