Introducing Court Nine girls introduce themselves as the 2023-2024 homecoming court Maids

Nealy Kate Anderson

Nealy Kate, escorted by senior AJ McElroy, takes parts in multiple extra-curriculars across Texas High. She is apart of the cross country team and is captain of the cheer team. She is involved in Rosebuds, National Honor Society, Calculus Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Leadership and is the Senior Class Treasurer for Student Council. Nealy is most excited to spend time her fellow maids on court.

"My favorite memory from Texas High was the PG volleyball game. I've never been in a room with that much energy, and there hasn't been a feeling like that sense then!"

Zaria Black

Zaria, escorted by senior Tyquan Black, is a member of Leadership, National Honor Society, Criminal Justice Club, and History Club and HOSA. She is a part of the variety cheer team, the Sports Medicine program and she acts as the Student Body Parliamentarian for Student Council. In her free time, Zaria works and loves to spend time with her friends and family.

"I'm excited to be on court because I get to experience it with so many of my friends. It's going to be a great memory to share!"

Jadyn Johnson

Jadyn, escorted by senior Kenneth Merriman, participates in Leadership, Rosebuds and National Honor Society. She also acts as a committee chairman for the Criminal Justice Club, a squad leader for the cheer team and is the Student Body President for Student Council. In her spare time, Jadyn loves to cheer, and hopes to go on to be a collegiate cheerleader in the future.

"I'm really excited to go to the practices for court. Everyone going is just so funny to be around and I know it will be a good time!"

Annabeth Killian

Annabeth, escorted by senior Trystan Powell, is a member of the varsity soccer team, and holds the office position of Student Body Vice President for Student Council. She is involved in National Honor Society, AP Ambassadors, Key Club, Sports Medicine, Mu Alpha Theta and Leadership. Annabeth is looking forward to getting to spend her time on Homecoming Court with all of her best friends.

"My favorite memories from Texas High are all of the football games. It's so fun to be so involved through sports medicine and getting to travel to away games as a cheer escort."

Libby Lavender

Libby, escorted by senior Timothy Austin, participates in Student Council, Leadership and Rosebuds. She is also apart of the varsity cheer team, as well as a member of the National Honor Society. Her excitement for being a maid on the court stems from her wanting to be able to spend time with all of the girls that she grew close to over her time as a Tiger.

"My favorite memory from high school was when I was walking to class in the math and science building. I jumped to hit the door frame, but tripped and fell and everyone laughed at me!"

Kennedi McHenry

Kennedi, escorted by senior TJ Gray, is involved in TigerVision, Rosebuds, National Honor Society, Student Council, Leadership and is a four year member of the Texas HighSteppers. Her favorite memory of Texas High is making drill team. She loves being able to see the girls everyday and the sense of family the program provides.

"I'm most excited for court to be able to share this experience with such an amazing group of girls!"

Shaniah Richardson

Shaniah, escorted by senior Evan Holman, is involved in Student Council, Criminal Justice Club, American Sign Language Honor Society, Leader In Me Lighthouse, Reach, Rosebuds and is the Co-Captain of the cheer team. Shaniah loves spending time with her friends and dressing up.

"My favorite memories from Texas High mostly all come from cheer. I can't wait to be on court with the everyone and get close with the girls!

Lynnley Whitlock

Lynnley, escorted by senior Kevin Leyva, is involved with National Honor Society, Quill and Scroll, Student Council, Leadership, Rosebuds and AP Ambassadors. She also is a member of the Texas HighSteppers and is the People Editor for the Texas High School yearbook program. In her spare time, Lynnley loves to spend time with friends, and can't wait to share this special memory with all of her fellow maids.

"My favorite memory from my time at Texas High was the Spinoff fundraiser. We did the carwash, it was hot outside and everyone was playing around. It was so fun."

Grace Wilson

Grace, escorted by senior Cruz Bustos, is involved in Key Club, AP Ambassadors, Mu Alpha Theta, Rosebuds, Leadership and Student Council. She is also the head of the DASH (Drugs, alcohol, safety and health) program for Student Council, as well as a member of the varsity tennis team. Grace enjoys being involved in the student section at football games, and getting to travel on the cheer bus to away games.

"I'm happy that I got to be on court with most of my closest friends. I know it's going to be a great experience and a memory we will all cherish forever!"
