Project information

It's estimated that on average parents pay around £287 for each primary school child's uniform. That's an impossible amount for some families, especially when faced with a cost-of-living crisis. When One Vision Housing's Neighbourhoods Team alerted The Sovini Group's Stakeholder Engagement Team to the financial difficulties families are facing (this year in particular), they stepped into action to bring partners together, and help provide support for communities in need.

£532,165 generated in social value

Outcomes

Through partnership working with Sovini Trade Supplies, Sovini Property Services, Sovini Construction and colleagues across The Sovini Group, we were able to donate over 700 uniform items to organisations throughout Merseyside including the Litherland Family Wellbeing Centre, T.A.N.G.O Community Project in St Helens and Compassion Acts in Southport.

In total, this project helped to support around 310 Merseyside children, creating £532,165 in social value according to the HACT social value calculator.

Sue Jackson at Litherland Family Wellbeing Centre, said:

Thank you so much to The Sovini Group and One Vision Housing for donating so many wonderful items to our uniform bank this year. Many local families have really been struggling to provide school clothes due to the cost-of-living crisis, so these uniforms will go a long way in helping support vulnerable families this school year.
