Animation and Motion Design

I'm an animator and motion designer using 2D techniques to convey information and tell beautiful stories in effective and imaginative ways. I create short film, promotional content and explainer videos for clients ranging from coorporate businesses to public sector and theatre productions. I've won a Bafta New Talent award, had short films screened at over 50 international film festivals and my work has been projected onto landmark buildings such as York Minster, Edinburgh Castle and Liverpool's Albert Docks. Alongside these projects I've recently been working as an art director and leading the layout department on TV broadcast shows for Sky Kids and the BBC.

Take a look at my vimeo page for full films and more details on any projects seen in my showreel.

Check out instagram for doodles and behind the scene goodies.

If you need animation with warmth and personality to emotionally connect with your audience then I'd love to hear from you. My contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Art Direction and 2D Layout

Over the past few years I've been working as an art director and 2D layout designer for Wild Child Animation, creating shows for Sky Kids and CBBC. I take characters that people love and create the worlds in which animators can bring them to life. These shows have gone on to win a BAFTA Scotland for Entertainment and the Children's Choice Award at the British Animation Awards.

See some trailors below.

Projection Mapping

Seeing animation on the front of an iconic landmark, out in the real world, is awe-inspiring. As an animator you are able to create freedom and wonder away from the 16:9 bounding box. Here's a selection of my work with Double Take Projections, see their website for more details on specific projects.

Theatre

Creating for live theatre is a thrill that can't be matched. Actors portraying characters surrounded by the magic of animation can tell stories in ways that connect with people's souls.

I created animated set design for world touring stage show The Mould that Changed the World, providing context and atmosphere. For Xana Marwick and Heather Fulton's play, Nests, I brought to life a crow, cued live to react to the actors on stage.
