This month, God reminded me of a very special event that happened in the middle of the year 2021. I remember that Alexas and I started a prayer group for NK, which we called “Comunidad de Oración por NK Latinoamérica” (Prayer Community for NK Latin America). Little by little, the Lord was bringing people from Latin America with the same calling and passion for this nation. I will never forget the words of a South Korean missionary brother serving in Venezuela: he told us that, by God's grace, we would be the ones to guide and encourage those who would come after us. And, indeed, that is what has happened.
This group has not only been a space to intercede for NK, but also a place where we listen to each other, pray for each other and support each other. Those with more experience guide and encourage the others, helping us all to become more deeply involved in God's work for this calling.
This year we celebrate four years of uninterrupted prayer for NK, and we are deeply grateful to God for all He has done through this group. In addition, we have a WhatsApp group where we share monthly petitions and relevant information about NK.
Just as God has brought people with this calling, I am sure He will continue to bring many more, so that together we can continue to intercede and serve His purpose. To God be the glory!
This month, Alexas and I had the opportunity to meet with two people interested in supporting us. We believe that God has led these meetings, as we need to raise enough funds to not only cover the cost of our training that will be in Mexico, but also to complete our overall budget. (Support us in prayer that God will connect us with people who long to be a part of God's work through their giving hands and praying knees).
Venezuela has confronted deep economic, political and social crises. Even in the midst of these difficulties, I have gratefully experienced God's goodness, provision and faithfulness.
My church in Venezuela sends me and supports me with their prayers, although due to the current situation they have not been able to support me financially. However, God has been faithful and has blessed me with the support of brothers and sisters and even churches in other parts of the world, who have become involved in God's mission through their financial support.
Like Paul, who through a letter sent thanks to the church in Philippi for the support received (Philippians 4:15-18), but in my case I long to travel to Curaçao and Bonaire to share testimony and personally thank the brethren and church that have been of great support.
Especially the church in Bonaire has been very meaningful to me. When I arrived in Bonaire in 2020, after serving on the Logos Hope Ship. International Bible Church-it was the first church that heard my calling. God used their words to encourage me to move forward, even when I was not clear on what the next step would be. His words of support were, without a doubt, one of the confirmations of God's purpose for my life.
I ask for your prayerful support regarding this request, may God do according to His will.
Theology course studies
Currently, I must complete seven courses as a requirement to be part of the Pioneers missionary agency. So far, I am progressing in three of those seven courses.
I ask you to pray that God will give me wisdom and help me to enjoy and learn from each course. Also, I ask you to pray for the Lord to do a miracle with the internet: I am taking the courses online and in Venezuela they will lend me a chip with line, hoping in God that it can work without problems during each class, since each session lasts two and a half hours and, in addition, I need to do a lot of research, which implies a high consumption of data. Finally, pray that I may be grateful to God in all circumstances and that there will be no complaint in my heart.
Family
This month has been a special time to share with my family, as I will soon return to Venezuela and I do not know how long it will be before I will be reunited with my sister and my nieces. I am deeply grateful to God, because during my time in France I was able to counsel them and tell them about the Lord. Even though they have not taken the step to receive Christ into their lives. I know that the work is God's and I trust that He Himself will convince them. In the meantime, I continue to pray for them and entrust their lives into the Lord's hands.
I appreciate your prayerful support to move forward with the following pending requirements:
1. Complete training with the PIMEX community in Chihuahua (pending).
2. Bible/Theology studies (I have already started; there are 7 courses I must study).
3. Complete all the evaluations required by the agency: biblical, English, psychological, psychometric, among others.
