"Playing baseball at University School has been an experience I’ll never forget. The time we spent together on and off the field taught me what real teamwork and discipline look like. We didn’t show up just for the game. We showed up for each other. That’s what made this season special and made every practice and game something I looked forward to. The friendships I’ve built with my coaches and teammates will stay with me for life. I’m grateful and proud to be part of the University School Baseball family. I will always remember to bring the JUICE!" - Cayden Zelenak '26
Lacrosse
After facing many of the top teams in Northeast Ohio, Lacrosse advanced to the Regional Semifinal after defeating Hawken and Chagrin Falls in OHSAA tournament play. Seniors Z Cimoroni and Tyler Mee served as team captains.
"My time in the University School lacrosse program was one of the highlights of my high school experience. I was fortunate to compete alongside some of my best friends and learn from a coaching staff that cared deeply about our team. This season was especially memorable as we began our first year under Coach Perrino. His energy and enthusiasm made coming to practice and games fun every day. Our postseason wins against two rival programs created memories that I will never forget, and I am excited to see where the program goes from here."
Tennis
Tennis advanced to the Final Four of the Division 1 OTCA Team Tournament and ended the season 14-2 with impressive wins over Hudson, Jackson, and Solon. Charlie Christopherson '26 served as team captain.
"Being a part of the tennis program was certainly the most rewarding experience of my time at US. I learned far more than how to play hard, it taught me how to perform under pressure, win the mental battle, and understand that enthusiasm is half the battle. These are lessons I will carry with me throughout life. In 10 years, when I think back on my time with the team, I won’t think about our records. I’ll think about the long bus rides, pre-match hype huddles, and the way we encouraged one another during matches. The team truly shared a special brotherhood. I’m grateful for the guidance of our coaches, the memories we made, and the brothers I’ll have for a lifetime." - Charlie Christopherson '26
Track & Field
Track & Field finished fifth at the Division 2 District Championship. Several athletes advanced to the Regional, and three qualified for the State Championships in the 800m, 3200m, and pole vault. The team was led by captains Ethan Ansevin '26, Charles Gilson '26, Alex Schott '26, and Travis Skinner '26.
“My four years in the track and field program have been some of the best years of my life. The community that has been built is incredibly close, and these are my brothers for life. Our program is more than just a team. It helps young men reach their full potential. Every day, I looked forward to working alongside a group of guys who were willing to give everything they had, not only for themselves, but for the program as a whole. The growth our team experienced throughout this season is a reflection of the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment of every athlete in the program.” - Travis Skinner ’26
