Nomination Period Opening Soon

We are pleased to announce the commencement of the nomination period for candidates running for positions on the City Council (Districts 2, 4, and 5) and City Treasurer. This period marks a crucial step in our democratic process, inviting dedicated individuals to step forward and contribute to the governance and development of our community.

City Council Nomination Details: The City Council plays a vital role in shaping policies, making decisions on local issues, and representing the interests of our diverse community. As such, eligible candidates interested in running for City Council are encouraged to obtain nomination papers from the City Clerk's Office starting from Monday, July 15, 2024 through Friday, August 9, 2024. An appointment with the City Clerk is required. Make an appointment today!

To qualify as a candidate for City Council, individuals must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a registered voter in the District for which they are running
  • Reside within the District for which they are running

Completed nomination papers must be filed with the City Clerk's Office by 4:00 p.m. on August 9, 2024. This ensures all prospective candidates have ample time to complete the necessary paperwork and meet all statutory requirements.

City Treasurer Nomination Details: The role of City Treasurer is critical in managing our city's finances responsibly and transparently. Eligible candidates interested in this esteemed position are also invited to obtain nomination papers from the City Clerk's Office during the same nomination period.

To qualify as a candidate for City Treasurer, individuals must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a registered voter in our city
  • Reside within the city limits

Similar to City Council nominations, completed papers for the City Treasurer position must be filed with the City Clerk's Office by 4:00 p.m. on August 9, 2024.

Riverside County is cracking down on illegal fireworks! Help safeguard yourself and your community by obeying the law - illegal fireworks can result in a $1000 fine. Join us in celebrating safely at our Fourth of July fireworks display at the Lake Elsinore Levee. This year, mark your calendars for July 4, 2024, and enjoy the World's Largest Rubber Duck exhibit, a complimentary concert, and a dazzling fireworks show starting at 9:00 pm. Don’t miss this exciting event!

Main Street Pedestrian Safety Improvements and Information Technology Infrastructure Project

The Main Street Pedestrian Safety Improvements and Information Technology Infrastructure Project is designed to improve the Main Street Civic Center and Commercial Corridor. from Lakeshore Drive to the I‐15 interchange.

The project will start July 2024 and will be complete in February 2025. Some portions of the project construction will occur at night to minimize disruptions to traffic and Main Street businesses. The City will coordinate with businesses for trash pick‐up and deliveries. Project limits are Main Street from Lakeshore Drive to the I‐15 interchange.

Improvements:

  • Utility infrastructure to provide future electricity, internet connectivity, power to street lights and low voltage irrigation wiring.
  • Intersection and crosswalk enhancements at various intersections. Enhancements will consist of a combination of decorative colored concrete and brick inlays.
  • All non-ADA-compliant ramps will be reconstructed.
  • Inset pedestrian flashing light systems will be installed at the existing crosswalk in front of City Hall and Library Street parking lot.
  • Bollards will also be installed to facilitate the closure of Main Street for a variety of special community events.

Lake Elsinore Lake Watch

Based on recent lab results from lake water sampling and guidance from the California State Water Board, the City of Lake Elsinore is announcing that current levels of toxins from algae warrant the posting of a ā€œDangerā€ advisory.

Under this advisory, and per the CA State Water Resources Control Board, people should not swim in the water. People are advised to stay out of the water and avoid scum, to not drink lake water, and to continue to keep pets out of the water.

Energy Savings Assistance Program

The Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) program offers income-qualified homeowners and renters the opportunity to receive energy-saving home improvements, such as a heat pump water heater replacement, or energy-efficient appliances, such as a new refrigerator, clothes washer, or dishwasher replacement, and more. If you qualify, Southern California Edison (SCE) will cover the cost, including installation by an authorized contractor.

Assessment

To be eligible, you must meet specific household income guidelines. After income qualification, SCE will send a contractor to do a walk-through of your home to collect information to help SCE determine the potential for installation of one or more appliances or services.

Qualifications

  • Be a homeowner or renter who receives electric services through a residential meter
  • Reside in a single-family home or mobile home (Residences with four (4) or fewer units are considered single-family homes. So, duplexes, triplexes, and fourplexes qualify.)
  • Have an active SCE service account
  • Meet appliance replacement/installation requirements for each service
  • Meet either household size and income limits OR public assistance program qualification
