Adobe Use Case

Creating the JELA Experience Video

The Adobe Joint Enterprise License Agreement (JELA) provides agencies in the Department of Defense with a single pathway to the latest Adobe Professional technologies. Over 2.6 million DoD personnel have access to consolidated software solutions, making the procurement process more efficient and expanding content delivery capabilities (web, print, digital, design, and distribution) for the end user.

The challenge for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Adobe is bringing more awareness to the JELA and ensuring that servicemembers and DoD civilians are equipped with innovative solutions to complete the mission.

When DISA pitched Adobe with the concept of producing a short video to market JELA and the collaborative tools offered through the agreement, the decision to support the endeavor was quickly made. Videos are proven communication tactics to showcase major initiatives, and the Public Sector team had just the creative group to produce the JELA video: Adobe’s Public Sector DME Solutions Consultants.

Having just left the FBI as a digital content strategist, Steve Lewis joined the Pub Sec SC cadre with a strong background in multimedia production. He jumped on the JELA project only a month into being an Adobe employee. The overall goal was to produce a two-minute video that showcased the challenges of managing and procuring software licenses before JELA while highlighting the capabilities and efficiencies provided through the agreement.

Steve took the project further by incorporating DoD-specific content downloaded from the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) and promoting specific Adobe applications, including Creative Cloud, to strengthen the JELA message. Due to the short suspense of the request, Steve leveraged Adobe’s rapid video production framework, Premiere Pro and Motion Graphics Templates (MOGRTs) from Adobe Stock to quickly produce the final content. Steve also took advantage of Frame IO’s collaborative features to efficiently gain feedback and approvals from DISA and the Adobe teams.

As a result, the JELA Experience video was accomplished and provided to the client in just under a week, in time to be shared following a TechNet conference in Baltimore, Maryland. The content is still being distributed by DISA to hundreds of DoD personnel, especially contracting officers and procurement decision-makers.

"I was thrilled to immediately leverage my experience from the government and military and provide impact to such a critical partnership with DISA," said Steve. "Working with DISA and fellow Adobe JELA team members for this JELA video project was the perfect introduction to a career on Adobe’s Public Sector team."

David White the DISA JELA Program Manager, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership between DISA and Adobe, stating, "It was very satisfying to be able to partner with Adobe leveraging their tools and knowledge for a simple idea that propelled into a larger vision. Our initial problem was to solve for the low participation and increase engagement with our mission partners and all users under this agreement. Approaching Adobe with our ideas and goals and collaborating towards a finished product resulted in a JELA commercial to reach all of our users."

Watch the final JELA Experience video here. Interested in learning more directly from Steve on the production of this and other videos? Watch the webinar he provided during Emergent’s JELA week which goes into greater detail. You can also sign up for Steve’s upcoming Lunch and Learn on “Producing a Podcast” scheduled for August 22nd.

Enterprise Storage Model - Required Adobe Admin Console Migration

We are happy to announce some upgrades and improvements coming to the Adobe Admin Console. You are identified as an Administrator, so please plan on attending this meeting to understand the new way to manage your named users and see if any users are utilizing storage. For a teaser, as of today, you cannot see who is utilizing storage (even though your users should not be). After this migration, you will be able to see who is using it and have tailored conversations with these users to explain that they should not be using it, and why.

We are scheduling a general meeting with all Administrators on Monday June, 19th at 1:00-2:00 EST. Meeting invite coming soon!

Support Case Reviews

The Creative Cloud and Acrobat Named Support Engineers (Bruce Jividen and Everett Valdez) are available to conduct Case Reviews with each of the JELA Agencies. This is an opportunity for you to understand and discuss existing Creative Cloud and Acrobat cases and identify trends. To schedule your agencies case reviews, please reach out to jelatech@adobe.com.
