FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

Dear Bluejay Family,

Is October really here already?! We are certainly sprinting into Color Run Week. Let’s be sure that in this short week filled with excitement and anticipation, we keep the focus where it should be: finishing the first quarter of the school year strong.

As we approach the end of the first quarter, I'd like to offer some suggestions for reflecting on this period with your children and planning for a successful second quarter:

  1. Celebrate Achievements: Begin by celebrating your child's accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Recognizing their efforts can inspire confidence.
  2. Assess Progress: Take a look at your child's academic progress and overall development. Identify areas where they excel and those that may require additional attention.
  3. Set Goals Together: Sit down with your child to set goals for the second quarter. Encourage them to think about what they want to achieve academically and personally.
  4. Time Management: Help your child establish a daily routine that includes study time, playtime, and rest. Proper time management is essential for success.
  5. Resilience: Teach your child that setbacks are a part of learning, and opportunities for growth.
  6. Communication: Keep the lines of communication open with your child's teachers. Encourage your child to ask for help when they need it. Teachers are here to support your child's progress and can provide valuable insights.

I pray you find these points to be a helpful framework in reflecting on the past quarter and preparing for the one to come.

Grace and Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

We would like to remind everyone of our policy for participating in extracurricular activities after school. As stated in the student handbook on page 51, "If a student is absent 3/7 or more of instructional time, he/she may NOT participate in after-school activities that day without special permission from administration." This includes, but is not limited to, team practices or games, club meetings, and special school events.

ATHLETIC PHYSICAL - REQUIRED FOR ALL ATHLETES

We will be hosting our first home football games against St. Bernard at STM on Thursday. Admission is $6 for adults and $1 for kids for our sporting events.
