Help keep our community clean by maintaining a healthy sewer system

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) works hard to maintain a safe, reliable sewer system — and we need your help!

As a property owner, you’re responsible for your sewer lateral — the pipe connecting your home or building to EVMWD’s system. Proper disposal helps prevent costly backups and protect our community.

Keep fats, oils & grease (FOG) out of the drain:

Pouring FOG down the drain causes clogs and sewer spills. Instead:

  • Collect cooled FOG in a container (like a coffee can) and place it in the trash or organics bin per your city’s rules.
  • Scrape leftover food, sauces, and oils into the trash before washing dishes.
  • Use a sink strainer to catch solids.

Together, we can keep our sewer system healthy and our neighborhoods clean.

There are so many easy ways to stay green this fall — compost your leaves and pumpkins, recycle right, and skip single-use cups! Every small effort helps create a cleaner, greener future for our communities.
