Seattle Latin Rock Soul
Blurb:
Hailing from the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle Washington, Wasabi Samba blends rock en español, bossa nova, and Latin rhythms with a modern and jazzy edge. With songs in Spanish, English and Portuguese, they bring diverse influences together to create a uniquely vibrant and dynamic sound.
Full bio:
Imagine the sway of Bossa Nova and the pulse of Samba interwoven with raw rock power, deep R&B soul, and alternative experimentation – that's the sound of Wasabi Samba. Founded in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle in 2021, consisting of Vocalist/Guitarist Alvaro Molina, Bassist Austin Cloy, Drummer and Backing Vocalist Thomas Canetti, Saxophonist Steven Paul, and Keyboard player Thomas “Tito” Hansen. Their January 2025 freshman EP, "Ánimo," captures their unique blend, but it's on stage where their energy truly ignites. They've performed at Seattle hotspots like Neumos, Madame Lou's, Nectar Lounge, KEXP and taken center stage headlining major festivals such as Capitol Hill Block Party (2024). Shbang Bellingham (2024, 2025) and two NW Folklife Festival shows (2025).
