Alma Day is the biggest fundraising day of the year for the College, and the entire Alma community is invited to come together.

It is more than a day when we ask for your gifts—it is a celebration of the incredible impact our community can make when we unite for a common cause.

On this day, your gift, no matter the size, will help us continue to provide the highest-quality education, foster faculty research, and create meaningful opportunities for our students.

Advocate Responsibilities

As an Advocate you help celebrate being "All In for Alma" through:

1. Social media and/or email, and encourage your classmates and friends to make a gift.

2. Offer your gift as a match or challenge to help inspire your peers to give.

3. At the conclusion of Alma Day, we ask that you thank those who participated via email and social media.

Messaging Timeline

Before Alma Day

1. Share the link the Alma Day page link. The link will be available starting Thursday, February 27.

2. Place your match or challenge on the platform on Wednesday, March 12. This will allow your gift to inspire participation on the day, Thursday, March 13, 2025.

On Alma Day

1. Log in to your GiveCampus account.

2. Once logged in, use the buttons under the Alma Day image on the main page of the campaign to conveniently share the campaign URL in a tweet, text or email to your Alma friends and classmates.

3. The URL you pick up from these buttons contains special tracking that is uniquely connected to your account. This feature allows you to view how many times someone clicked on the Alma Day link you shared and how many people made a gift as a result of your outreach.

How to Get Started

Activating your GiveCampus Account

We ask that Advocates create an account through GiveCampus, the social fundraising platform that Alma College uses for Alma Day. This is the only way we can effectively track the impact of your outreach efforts. Creating an account will allow you to seamlessly share messaging via social media.

Here is how to get started:

Step 1: Sign Up

  • Go to givecampus.com
  • Click on ‘Sign Up’ in the top right corner of the page.
  • If you already have an account, please move on to step 3.

Step 2: Create an Account:

  • Please create an account using your email on file with Alma College. It is not recommended to use Facebook to sign up.
  • Once you have created an account, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to activate your account and complete the sign-up process. You will be able to share via Facebook, X and LinkedIn after account sign-up.

Step 3: Create a Match or Challenge

  • Now that you’ve logged into GiveCampus, you can create a matching gift and share the page with others.

Create a Matching Gift or Challenge

Inspire your classmates and friends by creating a matching gift or challenge. We recommend you make your match or challenge as simple as possible. GiveCampus does not store or save your credit card information.

What is the difference between a match and a challenge?

Matches and challenges differ in that:

1. A match will match dollars/donors as they come in, while challenges unlock ONLY IF a certain threshold is reached.

2. The key difference is that challenges are milestone-based (e.g. John Smith will give $5,000 if 300 donors give OR Jane Johnson will give $10,000 if $100,000 is donated) and matches are made on a per-donor or per-dollar basis (e.g. Anna Anderson is matching $20 per donor up to $400 OR Ben Baker is matching $2 per $1 donated up to $1,000).

3. Both matches and challenges can be restricted to specific groups (e.g. affiliation, class year, designation, or a list of donor names).

4. When setting up your match or challenge, we encourage you to give your entire gift, regardless of whether the terms of your match or challenge are met. Otherwise, we may not receive your gift at all.

Creating a Match

1. Click on the maroon ‘Offer a Matching Gift’ button.

2. Enter the maximum amount you would like to match (e.g., up to $200).

3. Select if you want the match to be 1:1 match. Then choose if you would like to make a ‘per dollar’ or ‘per donor’ match. If you click ‘other,’ you can choose to donate $5 (or another amount) for every dollar or donor matched.

4. Select when the match should end (e.g. when the campaign is over).

5. Be sure to select the affiliation, class year or list of friends your match is intended for. For example, you can choose an affiliation group such as ‘alumni,’ a class year or specific individuals by email. If you do not choose one, the match will be available to everyone who makes a gift.

6. Enter your payment information.

7. Once the day arrives, encourage your classmates and friends to join you in being "All In" on supporting Alma Day!

Creating a Challenge

1. Click on the maroon ‘Offer a Challenge’ button.

2. Enter how much you would like to give.

3. Choose your milestone: dollars or donors.

4. Enter your payment information.

5. Once the day arrives, encourage your classmates and friends to join you in being All In on supporting Alma Day!
