About me
I am a first-year student at Full Sail University. I chose the M.A. in New Media Journalism because my passion lies in writing. As a writer, I founded The Golden Equinox, a website dedicated to covering all space-related news. I plan to write columns for it when it is published in a magazine.
Intention Statement
My intention is to fully complete my M.A in New Media Journalism. I hope to learn more about digital media, different ways of communicating on different platforms, and writing professional columns. I would also like to know the process of obtaining and transferring information in the field of Journalism. As a writer, I have been working on my novel, The Flying Machine in Malepotan hoping that I finish it by the end the year 2026. I am also consistently writing stories for my news site, The Golden Equinox. I hope to incorporate the new skills I learn from the New Media Journalism program so that my companies can flourish. I want to ensure that I write columns worth reading and understand the process of publishing them live.

There are many lessons that this course covered that helped me broaden my brand as a Journalist. Specifically, learning how to conduct professional research using the provided resources that were provided to us, in these sites, I was able to interpret data, but most importantly, knowing how to use that data to tailor to your brand as a Journalist and a content creator. One assignment that I completed this term that developed my skills professionally was learning how to create my own website. This gave me confidence to see a functioning website that I was able to edit as much as I'd like to cater to what I foresaw my platform looking like. This would shape my content beat, but I also learned what I should have in my platform because I have to be professional, knowing that I will have an audience. It gave me the drive to start creating content immediately, knowing I have a site ready to start sharing. I learned that I have autonomy when it comes to building a brand that suits me, while also being a professional Journalist by keeping my dedicated audience in mind and establishing an identity. I have come far in this course, as far as learning what it takes to conduct yourself as a professional Journalist—learning what journalists actually do, and building a brand that resonates with me. I am most proud that I was able to go towards a content beat that I am passionate about while also learning all the aspects that come with being a professional content producer. I am proud that I am able to anticipate what will come while I write, and what will help me strengthen and maintain my brand. I can write about what I am passionate about and be a journalist.
The following things I have gained in this course are research skills, the ability to write in AP style, and the use of creation tools. I can write an article with proper formatting, accessible citations, search for reliable information, and add engaging visuals, providing a good read. Writing in AP style makes it easier for readers to look up information in the article without having to search for it, and it also makes it easier for writers to cite sources. Going further into research skills, I am adept at using AI tools to generate content ideas and to search for information on sites. There are many viable sites with good information that can be used when writing articles. I can also create infographics with images, such as graphs or charts, to distribute a message or information. This is a good alternative for displaying engaging topics that most of the time offer quick, accessible information. While conducting interviews, you interview anyone who is versed in the topic you are writing about, while adding quotes in your article, or you can display it in the form of a video. There are various styles of conducting interviews, Q&A being one. With much happening online, you can see that information is being distributed in many formats. Overall, these skills demonstrate articles that are digestible, accessible, engaging, and sought after. Also, providing different formats for showcasing your message. I gained all these skills and tools while completing the assignments in this course, which provided the tools to create infographics, information to write in AP style, and ideas for AI-generated content.
