Dear Families, As we are now fully in "spring mode" at middle school, a reminder everyone that our expectations still remain high! We are asking all students to continue bringing their best effort every single day — academically and behaviorally. The final stretch is not the time to coast; it's the time to finish strong!! Our Character Education Focus throughout April with students will build on everything we've done all year and be centered on "WE Meet Expectations." M-STEP testing is right around the corner. We will be testing April 28 and April 30. Every student needs to be present and on time on their testing days. Please make every effort to schedule appointments and travel around these dates — your child's attendance truly makes a difference. Every student must have headphones (wired, non bluetooth headphones) for the MSTEP test. Students are encouraged to bring their own And before we know it, year-end field trips will be here! There's a lot to look forward to as we close out the year together---especially with our 8th graders as they make their final memories of middle school! Thank you for your continued partnership. Let's make these last weeks count! --Mr. MacIntosh

Spring Testing season
Spring State Testing Season is upon us! These assessments provide valuable insight into student growth and help guide our instructional decisions moving forward. More importantly, they are an opportunity for our students to show what they know and take pride in their hard work. We ask for your support in ensuring your child arrives to school on time, well-rested, and ready to give their best effort. MSTEP is coming up at the end of April with NWEA to follow in May. Please plan appointments around these dates. We need every student in school these days as absences create a ripple effect and cause them to lose more instruction in the long run. Reminders for Parents and Students with MSTEP Testing:
- Be Present and On-Time to School on Testing Days
- Get a good night of sleep before the test
- Eat breakfast (or grab it at school).
- Try your best!!
Parent Guide to Spring Testing

Dress Code Reminders
Below is information from LCPS Code of Conduct regarding student dress. As the weather warms up in spring it is a good idea to review these items with your child. Please help us with this as students in violation of the dress code will be offered clothes or have to call home for new clothes.

We utilize the district's School Messenger platform to send out updates to parents, students, and staff. If you are not receiving School Messenger emails, please contact the main office and we can get you set up. There are times we also send out reminder text messages about upcoming events, or important information, if you have opted out in the past, please use the steps below to opt in for text messages as this is the easiest way to get a quick communication from MSE. This would also enroll you into district text messages for things like Snow Days or Emergency Communications from LCPS
