This week in Year 4, we have been busy with lots of exciting learning!
In Computing, we have been exploring computational thinking. The children have learned about pattern recognition, decomposition, abstraction and algorithms. They enjoyed breaking problems down into smaller parts, spotting similarities and patterns, and creating clear step by step instructions to solve problems.
In English, the children have been thoroughly enjoying writing and performing their play scripts based on The Witches by Roald Dahl. They worked hard to include stage directions, dialogue and great expression!
On Tuesday, Year 3 and 4 hosted another Oracy assembly, this time focusing on mental health. The children took part in thoughtful discussions in duos and trios before coming together to summarise their ideas in groups.
We were also very pleased to finally enjoy some sunshine during our PE lesson! The children loved being back outside, developing their attacking and agility skills while playing dodgeball.
In Maths, the children have been working out the perimeter and area of shapes...
On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day with our special Book Day Breakfast alongside our families and friends. The children came to school dressed in clothes they feel most comfortable reading in or as their favourite book characters. Throughout the day, they enjoyed taking part in a World Book Day quiz and celebrating their love of reading together.
