The Non-Varsity boys did it! For the first time in Gunn Junior High's History, the Non-Varsity boys earned a Sweepstakes — the highest score possible at UIL! This achievement is especially meaningful because it reflects the tremendous growth, commitment, and perseverance these students have shown. Through their hard work, discipline, and teamwork, they have now seen what can be accomplished when they stay focused and support one another. Great job gentlemen! Please join in congratulations these students and their directors, Mr. Hendrickson, and Mrs. Lindberg!
On Saturday, Feb. 21st, the Gunn Robotics Teams competed in the Sphero Global Challenge State Tournament against middle school teams from around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. All three teams did AMAZING! The Gunn Blue team took home the 2nd place middle school division ribbon and the mystery mission ribbon.
Let's congratulate the varsity girls choir members on another sweepstakes! They received all 1's (the highest score possible) from all 6 judges. This group represents everything Gunn strives to be. It is incredibly diverse and made up from all walks of life. They have come together and made something really special this year. Their artistry and musicianship were unmatched. I couldn't be prouder!
SIDEWALK SURVEY FROM THE CITY OF ARLINGTON
Due to school closures caused by the winter storm last month, Monday, March 23, 2026, will now be a regular instructional day for all students and staff at all campuses and departments. February 16, 2025 will remain a student/staff holiday as planned. This day was originally designated as a bad weather make-up day in our Board adopted calendar for the 2025-2026 school year. Every instructional day matters, and each one plays an important role in student learning and progress. After weather-related closures, it is important for us to thoughtfully restore as much classroom time as possible, so students remain on track academically. We understand calendar changes impact family schedules, and we do not make these decisions lightly. Our goal is to be proactive, transparent, and respectful by announcing this change more than six weeks in advance. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to support the academic growth of our students.
The Arlington ISD 2025-26 Parent Engagement and Satisfaction Survey link is now live, and we want to hear from you! Let us know how to better serve your child by sharing your opinions on school safety, student well-being, campus communication, collaboration, academic partnerships, and more in our Arlington ISD Parent Survey. Your responses help us make continued improvements on your child’s campus. Click this link to access the survey or complete the survey at stations set up on each campus during open house week. Campus open houses are: March 2 (high school), March 3 (junior high), and March 5 (elementary). The survey is anonymous and closes on March 23, 2026. Parent Survey
