Term 1 | Week 8 | 2026

Inspiring - Inclusive - Empowered

We acknowledge the Minjungbal people, of the Bundjalung Nation, who are the original custodians of the land on which the school proudly stands. We raise our hands to the sky that covers the Aboriginal land. We touch the ground in the care of the Aboriginal land. We place our hands on our hearts in love of the Aboriginal land.

Events

Easter Hat Parade We are super excited to be hosting out Easter Hat Parade on the last day of Term 1, Thursday 2 April. Be sure to spend some time getting your hats ready at home and bring them in on the Thursday morning. This is a community event so parents, grandparents, uncle and aunties are invited to come along - you can even have a hot cross bun with us at the conclusion of the parade!

Pub Raffles Thanks to those families who have been able to give up an hour on Friday nights to sell raffle tickets at the Billinudgel Hotel on Fridays in March. There are just two Fridays left so if you want to help out, let Will know. VoSS Cross Country Helpers The P & C will be running the Cross Country Canteen again this year. If you can help out, get in touch with Tahnae or sign up on the board in the pick up zone. Winter Festival Planning is well under way! We have booked in our roving performers and nailed down most of our main stage acts. Keep an eye on the parent WhatsApp group for updates.

Feedback / Surveys

Student Surveys When our kids filled in our short student surveys a few weeks ago, a few stated that they didn't know who to seek help from on the playground or they couldn't find the teacher or SLSO on duty. Starting next week our staff will be wearing orange vest when on playground duty to ensure our kids can spot them when they need help with anything. Current Survey With wellbeing as our current target area, we are teaming up with the University of South Australia, in a program endorsed by the Department of Education called Ripples, to find a focus area and compose a direction for our school to continue to excel in this area. You will see our Year 6 children in the pick up area each afternoon asking parents to fill in the surveys. I will warn you, they do take some time and the questions are in depth but they will help us to get a better understanding of what our school and community need.
