Cylchlythyr Ysgol Saltney Ferry

"Cydweithio, gallwn gyd llwyddo."

Another busy week in Saltney Ferry, it was lovely to see the pupils show determination, resilience and celebrate each others' success in both Sports Day and the triathlon. I am sure you are all now aware the LA consultation is now open, it is very important you have your say, if you need any assistance then please ask. I look forward to seeing some of you in the Summer Fair on Wednesday next week. Enjoy the weekend, let's hope the sun comes out! L. Williams

Small Steps

We have had a lovely week! We have picked our first crop of runner beans. We have been planning our holiday in our travel agents,  talking about transport and where vehicles go. We then painted the different vehicles. In the water tray we have been exploring the boats and looking at floating and sinking!

What a busy week! Bursting with pride with all the children's efforts for delving into the field & track events we had planned this week🏃🏾‍♂️ showing great courage and resilience, da iawn pawb, one very proud Miss Laird. We have continued our findings on Africa looking and building habitats for safari animals & creating collages🦒 We've made some very 'sweet' cards and gifts for the special people in their lives for Father's Day🍬 & drew our self portraits ready to be attached to our end of year reports! Have a lovely weekend everyone🌞

This week in Dosbarth Padarn we pretended to travel to Italy on a plane using our passports we made. We had some virtual tours of the landmarks and wrote a postcard back to our friends.  We had so much fun at our annual Saltney Ferry Olympics and we were so proud of all the children for participating and giving it their all in every event.  The children worked together using recycled materials to build the landmarks in Italy.  In Udeskole this week the children have collected elderflowers and made their own cordial!

Tegid have had a fabulous week exploring our learning areas, outdoors and all the exciting events that went on this week! What a week of adventures! What great athletes we have coming through our younger classes. Tegid stood out in their sprinting and long distance racing.

We're thoroughly enjoying our immersive learning of Mexico and its culture. Our friends are learning the language, culture and music! We've shared a few tasks on dojo for our friends to have a go at, we look forward to seeing what you get up to.

Our friends in Brenig have had a busy week. In between our adventures over the week we have continued with our detective themed story in Portugal. Lovely sharing a book with our class, which opened up conversation about what we are reading at home. Over the week Brenig have looked after the farm, worked on their businesses, competed in our Olympics, completed a triathlon, finished our final swimming session and fitted in a transition project with St Davids High School....what a week!

Dosbarth Gwynant have had a lovely week packed full of sports and events!  We enjoyed our sports days, taking part in a range of activities and supporting our younger friends with joining in and getting in the team spirit🙌🏻 We had a great time at the Brownlee Triathlon on Tuesday, pushing ourselves and cheering each other on! On Thursday we finished our science experiments, exploring if temperature affects the speed of dissolving, linking to our learning about Hawaii and volcanoes! In the afternoon was swimming, where we enjoyed a chance to play and enjoy our last session with our friends 🏊 Then on Friday we were lucky enough to visit the Northop Campus of Wrexham University, reflecting on our participation in their research project on the positive impacts of our farm. We also enjoyed a chance to learn about their work and education around animal behaviours, welfare and conservation! What a great opportunity🐾

Fferm Y Ferry

The farm has been quiet on our socials this week but plenty still going on. The hens are enjoying their new mansion (and with plenty of room for more!!) Observing what goes on is proof enough of why we set it all up. Watching our Ferry Farmers take on the responsibility and management of our animals is one of our top highlights of the year! We've sessions booked for online farm visits coming up for chicken farms, hopefully we'll get a few egg-cellent ideas to 'crack' on with at our farm.

Look forward to seeing you all at our Summer fayre - Wednesday 24th starting at 15:20.

PlayPals

We had a surprise visit from Mandy from the Play Development Team this week. We have been working with them over the last two months on play skills, games and using our outdoor spaces. Something we're proud of is the emphasis we place on securing play opportunities for our pupils! Looking forward to what we have planned for next year!!

Swimming

And swimming is complete for this year! A big thank you to parents for supporting us to run these sessions with Cambrian Aquatics. Their staff have been amazing and absolutely fantastic to see the progress our pupils have made.
