This video shows you how to view and subscribe to our homework calendar.

This vido will show you how to check for missing assignments in Powerschool.

Science- Mr. Stadalman

We just got done with a mini-unit on process skills and parts of an experiment. Students have done a great job of following directions and being safe with labs. I appreciate their enthusiasm and motivation so far this year!

Next, we will begin our Hydroponics and Sustainability unit. We have a garden in the classroom in which we will be growing lettuce hydroponically. We will be learning about basic nutrients plants need to grow as well as the importance of pH. Lettuce will be ready to eat around the middle of October!

After hydroponics, we will begin our first ‘official’ unit: Cells!

ELA- Mrs. Lucas & Ms. Herr

During the month of September, students will learn about different types of sentence structures and subjects and predicates.

Students will read the novel Refugee by Alan Gratz. They will be tasked to make inferences, build historical connections, and engage with parts of plot structure and character development.

Math- Mrs. Brucker

Our first unit this quarter will be “Integers and Rational Numbers”. Students will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide positive and negative integers and rational numbers.

After each lesson, students will have an online assignment to complete. They will typically have a whole class period to complete the assignment. If they don’t finish it in class, then they should finish it before class the next day. Students will also be required to submit a photo of their work in Google Classroom. All work should be done in their math notebook.

Social Studies- Mr. Jacobs

We've been working hard on our introductory Five Themes of Geography. This is foundational for the remainder of the year.

Students are going to review basic map reading and interpreting. If you have a chance to reinforce this at home, please do! Even if it is as simple as reading a park map.

Students will be learning a lot about human geography such as systems of government and economics, culture, language, religion, etc. We will then learn about physical geography and how it impacts our lives. We will use the book Refugee that they are reading in ELA as our jumping off point.
