THE COACHES

Brown University currently holds the record for most Super Bowl championships in the Ivy League since 2001. Most recently Michael Hoecht '20 was part of the Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl LVI win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Brown University

Ask our students what sets Brown apart, and you'll get thousands of different answers. That's because no single experience defines a Brown education. Brown students want to create and navigate their own intellectual journeys. They possess an intense curiosity and aspire to make an impact.

The Open Curriculum

At most universities, students must complete a set of core courses. At Brown, our students develop a personalized course of study — they have greater freedom to study what they choose and the flexibility to discover what they love.

Campus Life

At Brown, 74% of undergraduates — and all first-year students — live on campus. Our College Hill campus offers a classic New England college experience among brick quadrangles, scenic greens, soaring modern architecture, renovated centuries-old structures, state-of-the-art labs and world-class libraries.

Facilities

Olney-Margolies Athletic Center

The Olney-Margolies Athletic Center (OMAC) was dedicated in 1981. Named for its two principal donors, members of the Class of 1936, Joseph Olney and Moe Price Margolies, it houses our program's offices, locker and shower rooms, athletic training support facilities, and equipment room.

Berylson Family Football Complex

In the summer of 2017, renovations to the OMAC as part of the Berylson Football and Training Complex project provided Brown with an updated football locker room as well as improved areas for athletic training and equipment services. As part of the second phase of the project in the summer of 2018, renovations were made to the football office space, including the Paul K. Sloan ’97 Football Team Room, which provides seating for over 125 people and has the ability to split in two.

David J. Zucconi ’55 Varsity Strength and Conditioning Center

The David J. Zucconi ’55 Varsity Strength and Conditioning Center, a 12,000-square-foot facility for varsity athletes and teams, officially opened in 2012.

The strength & conditioning center features an indoor turf area with sleds and agility training. It also has 18 multifunctional weight racks, eight pull-down machines and glute-ham machines, with over 400 pieces of floor equipment, including 300 dumbbells.

VARSITY CENTER

In the fall of 2022 Brown University opened the Varsity Center, a lounge-space for student athletes, inside the OMAC. The Varsity Center includes study spaces, TVs, nutritious snacks a ping pong table and the home of our team dietician.

RECOVERY/NUTRITION

Brown Football prioritizes nutrition and recovery as much as we prioritize playing football. We want to give our players the best resources from a physical development standpoint. Providing players with access to nutritional snacks and protein shakes, along with products like Theraguns and Nuerotrainer Virtual Reality equipment and talks with sleep experts.

BERYLSON FAMILY FIELDS

The Berylson Family Fields, located within the Erickson Athletic Complex, were completed in the fall of 2007 thanks in part to a generous gift from John Berylson ’75. The complex includes two FieldTurf fields with stadium style lighting, bleacher seating, scoreboard and a storage facility.

RICHARD GOUSE FIELD AT BROWN STADIUM

Dedicated in 1925 as Brown University Field, the home of Brown football was built completely by subscription, raised by a committee headed by Clinton C. White, Class of 1900. The stadium's current capacity is 20,000. New aluminum seats were installed in 1978 as part of Operation Pride in marking the 100th anniversary of Brown football.

CAREER DAY

Twice a year, Brown Football hosts a Career Day, allowing athletes to hear from alumni in a variety of different industries. Athletes are able to gain valuable insight about life after college and use the chance to network for future careers.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Brown Football works hard to give back to the Providence community, with efforts throughout the year, like the Be the Match Swab Event, Lead with Love and Bench Press for Cancer

Be the Match

LEAD WITH LOVE

Lead With Love (LWL) is Brown Football's community service and outreach organization, founded in the fall of 2020 by former students, Ryan Putman, Nathan Brown and RB Coach Willie Edwards. As members of the Brown football team and the greater Brown community, players strive to lead every interaction with love at its root. Members of LWL sign the Pledge, promising to embody the principles laid out there to the best of their ability. At this moment, every member of the football team has made this commitment, and the team is looking to expand to other teams and groups at Brown.

Lead with Love partnered with Tides Family Services, a deeply-rooted, local community service organization. LWL held a virtual Meet the Bears event and virtual Valentine Blitz with the participants of Tides Family Services. Lead with Love held their first in-person event with Tides Family Services in August 2021, where players, coaches, and children from the Rhode Island community met to make tie-dye shirts, throw the football around and try out some field drills.
