This guide will explain how to access mock tests using the GMetrix software for the Adobe applications on both Windows and MacOS platform. A troubleshooting section lists common problems & how to resolve these.

How to install GMetrix on a personal device
- Download the latest version of the GMetrix SMS client from gmetrix.net/downloads
- When prompted run the file to install the software
- Follow on-screen prompts in the GMetrix setup wizard to complete the installation process.
How to access GMetrix on a University Windows PC
- Search the Start Menu for GMetrix if installed open the app
- If you cannot locate GMetrix search for Software Centre and run this
- Select the Applications menu and Choose GMetrixSMEe* - Adobe 2024 to install this. Open the application once installed.
- In the login screen that appears; click the Microsoft logo and type in your university email address you will be re-directed to a University landing page where you will be able to enter your University email address and password.
- In order to access any practice tests you will need to redeem a GMetrix redemption code available on request by emailing DigitalEnablement@tees.ac.uk.
- Browse to appsanywhere.tees.ac.uk and launch the Adobe CC 2024 Bundle.
- Wait for the apps to download and open an Adobe Application you would like to sit a practice test in.
- If prompted login using your University email address and password, once the application has fully loaded close it down by quitting the application.
- Return to GMetrix and browse to the test of your choice and open this.
- Be patient whilst the test loads within the Adobe application environment.
How to access GMetrix on a University macOS pc
- Open an Adobe application from Launchpad
- If prompted login using your University email address and password, once the application has fully loaded close the application by quitting it.
- Open the GMetrix application, in the login screen that appears; click the Microsoft logo and type in your university email address you will be re-directed to a University landing page where you will be able to enter your University email address and password.
- In order to access any practice tests you will need to redeem a GMetrix redemption code available on request by emailing digitalenablement@tees.ac.uk
- Be patient whilst the test loads within the Adobe application environment. Accept any prompts to download test files.
Troubleshooting GMetrix
- Whilst in GMetrix if the question and answer pane fails to load or crashes between questions then you need to take the following steps to re-enable this.
- Click on the Window Menu in your Adobe application, choose extensions and enable "GMetrix PS LITA" by selecting it, this will re-load the GMetrix question and answer window.
- Intel iMac - click on the Window Menu in your Adobe application, choose extensions and enable "GMetrix PS LITA" by selecting it, this will re-load the GMetrix question and answer window.
- Apple Silicon iMac - Enable Rosetta Mode for the application affected. Watch the video below to follow the steps to do this.
MacOS re-install GMetrix plugin
If you find the question and answer pane still keeps crashing between questions even after enabling the plugin you can re-install the plugin. Watch the video below to follow the steps to do this.
