New Year, New Mayor and Vice Mayor

Each year in December our Town Council reorganizes to select the Mayor and Vice Mayor for the coming year. By nomination, the Council voted to unanimously to elect Vice Mayor Sarah Wernikoff into the Mayoral role and Councilmember Judith Hasko to move into the Vice Mayor role for 2024. We look forward to working with our Town's new leadership team over the coming year!

Join us for the first Coffee with the Mayor event of 2024. Stop by before work or at the beginning of your day and join Mayor Sarah Wernikoff in a conversation and learn about Town priorities.

Saturday, February 10th from 6pm to 10pm (Trivia starts PROMPTLY at 7 PM) at the Portola Valley Community Hall

We can have up to 16 teams with up to 8 players each. Individual registrants will be assigned to a team. Teams with less than eight may be assigned additional teammates. Additional teammates can be added later by filling out a new registration and indicating the team name. This event is brought to you by the Parks and Recreation Committee.

Woodside Fire – Fuel Mitigation Ordinance

The Woodside Fire Protection District will hold the first reading of the Fuel Mitigation Ordinance on February 27th, 2024. You can view the ordinance here.

Winter Storm Preparedness and Sandbag Station in Portola Valley

As the rainy season starts it is good to be prepared for winter storms. The town has resources to help. You can review the Winter Storm Preparedness page for tips on how you can protect your home. Click here to view the page.

The Town of Portola Valley provides a complimentary emergency supply of sandbags to help its residents protect property from flooding during the rainy season.

The self-serve sandbag station is located at Portola Valley Town Center along the southern driveway, across from the basketball courts. The station is accessible daily and will remain available through the end of the rainy season. Learn more about the sandbag station here.

This is also an advisory to Town residents to please notify Town Staff if you see a downed tree, or other hazard, that blocks a trail or a roadway. During regular business hours, call 650-851-1700 x200 (8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday). On weekends or outside business hours, please call the County Dispatch at 650-363-4000, who will then alert Town staff, authorized members of the Public Works Committee, or the Fire Department. Councilmember Hufty holds office hours in the Heritage Room every 2nd and 4th Wednesday 10 AM to 12 PM.

Every Thursday 2-5:30 PM - Farmers Market

The Portola Valley Farmers Market will be held rain or shine. The market is open from 2 - 5:30 PM each Thursday.

Feb 15 - Cookie Decorating at the Farmers Market

The Portola Valley Library will be hosting a free cookie decoration for kids from 2pm to 4pm at the Farmers Market.
