Welcome back to the penultimate term of the year. During learning walks, pupils have impressed me with their exemplary learning behaviours and super recall of knowledge. It was nice to see some of you on Monday for class meetings. Staff have shared the PowerPoints in case you were unable to attend.
Mrs Hayley Wells joined us in Buzzards this week. We are delighted to welcome her to our team.
Already this week we have had sports workshops in KS1 and EYFS with Charlotte (who previously ran Gymnastics and Sports workshops), Netball workshops with Celina Watts for Kestrels, Falcons and Red Kites and a girls football tournament in Stamford. Our performance poetry competition school winners are Arthur Steer and Marny Clark. They will be representing the school next week. All those who contributed earned their 'Be ambitious' challenge (see below).
Girls Football
Premises
We are making progress! We have new toilet cubicles and flooring and a new sink unit on the way. We also have approval for a water dispenser in the cloakroom area. The outdoor classroom has been topped up with bark, and the back of the school has had remedial works. Mr Bell has created blackboard areas in EYFS with storage for chalks which looks fabulous! Our future projects include a uniform shed (provided by the PTFA) to store and share second hand uniform, a sensory room, development of the falcon outside area and painting the outside of the Snowdrop Snug.
Easter Egg Hunt
Parents, Teachers and Friends Association
I have to say a huge thank you everyone who has helped out to raise money this year. £634.90 has been raised to fund extra projects such as the Snowdrop Snug and extra construction equipment for the playground as well as contributions to trips! You all help every time you volunteer, donate to a raffle, join movie night or just send a £1 for non-uniform day.
This is a great opportunity for us to work together for the good of our little community.
It would be lovely to see some new faces! A few parents have asked me about volunteering in school, and the process can be a bit intimidating, and involve a bit of paperwork, as it involves an interview and the DBS check. I'd like to suggest that we could do this in a PTFA meeting to make it a bit more relaxed and support those interested in getting involved?
If it would be helpful, I'd be prepared to offer school as a venue while wraparound is on and offer childcare to attendees? 5th May is the proposed date. I will confirm this.
