Highlights of the week
Year 6 SATs Brilliance
A huge well done to our wonderful Year 6 pupils who have shown incredible resilience and focus during their SATs week. We are immensely proud of the "brilliant" attitude they brought to each day; they handled the challenge with maturity and a positive spirit that was a joy to see. Regardless of the results, they have worked exceptionally hard, and they should all be very proud of themselves.
Football Fever: Road to the Finals
In sporting news, our boys' football team put on a fantastic display in their semi-final, securing a 3-0 victory to qualify for the final of the prestigious HMS Shield. This is a highly regarded competition across Birmingham, and reaching the final is a massive achievement. Our girls' team is also competing in the same competition, and we are rooting for them as they continue their journey!
Join us at St Andrew’s!
We would also like to invite the school community to come and support the boys' team in the final of another major competition. They will be playing at Birmingham City’s ground, St Andrew’s, on Sunday 31st May. Kick-off is from11:00 AM, and it would be wonderful to see a sea of our school families in the stands to cheer the boys on in such a great setting.
Mr Gale
4R are learning about the Earth and Beyond in science. Children planned and carried out a fair test to investigate whether plasticine ‘meteorites’ would make a bigger crater if dropped from a higher height .
Congratulations to the boys football team who won the HMS semi final against Lyndon Green, 3-0. Joining the girls team in the finals next week. ⚽ Thanks as always to Mr Smith who works so hard with both our teams.
Next half term, our school will participate in the Birmingham Schools Wellbeing Census, a yearly survey conducted with Birmingham City Council and the University of Warwick to better understand and support the emotional wellbeing of pupils. The digital survey takes about 20 minutes, is completed under teacher supervision, and uses anonymous "blind codes" to ensure no child is personally identifiable. Participation is entirely voluntary; if you do not want your child to take part, please email the school office using enquiry@colmorej.co.uk to opt out by Monday 1st June. Further information can be found in the attached parent information leaflet.
The newsletters are also accessible on the news section of our school website.
